Overview

The AFS EVO Fuselage is a full-carbon fuselage designed and manufactured by AFS, a French foil brand based in Pencran, Brittany. It connects front wings and stabilizers to any mast in the AFS Fuselink system, which uses a conical mast-to-fuselage junction engineered to reduce drag and increase overall rigidity. The fuselage is offered in two lengths — Short (650 mm) and Long (680 mm) — and ships with a protective cover.

AFS produces all of its carbon components in-house, from layup through finishing. The EVO Fuselage uses HR (High Resistance) carbon in a monolithic construction, keeping weight down to 0.6 kg. Each fuselage includes two sets of helicoil inserts for the stabilizer, giving riders a choice between a forward and a rearward stabilizer position without needing additional hardware.

Who It's For

The Long fuselage suits riders who are still building confidence with transitions like gibes and tacks. The extra 30 mm of length adds directional stability and pairs naturally with AFS's Flyer and EVO front wings, giving newer foilers a more predictable platform. The two stabilizer positions add another layer of tunability: setting the stabilizer in the longer position extends the effective tail length for even more stability and glide.

The Short fuselage targets experienced riders looking for quicker turning and more responsive handling. Its reduced length moves the front wing closer to the mast, tightening the turning radius and increasing reactivity. AFS positions the Short as the preferred option for pairing with its Enduro front wing line, where agility matters more than cruise-oriented stability. Riders who spend time in surf or tight freestyle maneuvers will benefit most from this configuration.

In the Lineup

Within the AFS catalog, the EVO Fuselage sits alongside the Fuselink Fuselage, which serves the brand's other foil families. Because every AFS Fuselink mast shares the same conical interface, riders can swap fuselages across setups without changing masts — a useful feature for anyone running multiple wing sizes or disciplines. The EVO Fuselage is designed to pair with the mid-aspect EVO front wings (spanning 950 cm² to 1650 cm²), the Enduro wings, and the Cruiser stabilizer range (S, M, L).

Shoppers comparing carbon fuselages at this price point may also look at options from Axis and Unifoil, though cross-brand compatibility is not available — the Fuselink interface is proprietary to AFS. For riders already invested in the AFS ecosystem, the EVO Fuselage is the component that bridges wing and stabilizer choices to the rest of the setup.
