Overview
The Armstrong A+ System High Aspect (HA) Front Wing is a high-performance foil wing designed for surf, downwind, and wing foiling. Produced by Armstrong Foils, the current HA range is a second-generation design that builds on the original HA line first released in 2021. Armstrong states that the V2 benefited from two years of development with a dedicated CFD (computational fluid dynamics) team, resulting in revised section shapes, outlines, and profiles across the entire size range. The HA series is constructed from Toray high- and intermediate-modulus carbon fiber and integrates with Armstrong's A+ System hardware — the brand's modular connection platform linking mast, fuselage, front wing, and stabilizer.
Eight sizes span from 480 cm² to 1180 cm², each identified by its area number (HA480 through HA1180). The range covers a broad spectrum of rider weights and wind conditions, with smaller wings oriented toward speed and larger wings toward early lift and light-wind pumping.

Who It's For
Armstrong positions the HA range for intermediate to expert foilers who want a wing that balances efficient glide with carving ability. The high aspect ratios — ranging from 9.63 to 11.0 depending on size — favor riders who prioritize long glide per pump stroke and smooth, connected riding over raw low-speed lift. Surf foilers chasing open-ocean bumps, downwind runners linking swells, and wing foilers riding in moderate to powered conditions are the primary audience.
Riders stepping up from the V1 HA series may find that the V2 offers earlier lift at lower speeds, which Armstrong suggests can allow downsizing by one increment (for example, moving from the older HA925 to the V2 HA880) while maintaining similar pump characteristics. Beginners or riders who need maximum low-end stability at slow speeds may find Armstrong's CF V2 series a more forgiving starting point before transitioning to the HA.
In the Lineup
Within Armstrong's A+ System front-wing catalog, the HA sits between the CF V2 and the MA (Mid Aspect) series. The CF V2 is the entry-level option, priced lower and designed for user-friendly stability. The MA targets riders who want a blend of glide and aggressive carving at high speed, occupying the mid-aspect-ratio segment. The HA, by contrast, leans toward efficiency — longer spans and higher aspect ratios that reward a rider who values distance per pump and smooth, flowing turns over rapid direction changes.
Compared to high-aspect wings from other brands at a similar price point, the HA range is notable for the breadth of its size lineup: eight options let riders fine-tune surface area to their weight, local conditions, and discipline without changing wing families. That continuity across sizes simplifies quiver building for riders who foil in varied conditions.
