Overview

The Armstrong Alloy System Mast Top Plate is a machined structural component that connects any Armstrong Alloy mast to the board's foil track. Made from 6061 aluminium alloy, it serves as the critical interface between the rider's board and the mast assembly in Armstrong's modular Alloy foil system. The top plate is sold as a standalone part, separate from the mast itself, reflecting Armstrong's component-level modularity across its foil hardware lineup.

The plate ships with a selection of titanium and 316 stainless steel fasteners — including M7 and M8 titanium cap screws, titanium barrel nuts and T-nuts, nylon washers, and two marine-galvanized Torx tools (T30 and T40) for installation. This mixed-metal hardware package is designed for long-term corrosion resistance in saltwater environments.

Who It's For

This top plate is aimed at riders building up or maintaining an Armstrong Alloy foil setup. Because the Alloy masts ship without a top plate included, every Alloy system rider needs one — whether assembling a new quiver from individual components or replacing a worn or damaged plate. The Alloy system is positioned by Armstrong as an accessible option for riders across skill levels, from those learning to foil through experienced riders who prefer aluminium's durability over carbon.

It is also relevant for riders running a Foil Drive unit with an Armstrong Alloy mast, as Armstrong offers specific titanium screw lengths designed for that pairing. Riders switching between board setups may want a second top plate to avoid repeated disassembly.

In the Lineup

Within Armstrong's hardware catalog, the Alloy Mast Top Plate sits alongside several related components: the Alloy Mast Bottom Bracket ($99.99), the Alloy Mast Top Plate Hardware Set ($99.99, sold separately for riders who need replacement fasteners without a new plate), and the Alloy System Hardware Set ($64.99). Armstrong also sells an A+ System Hardware Set at $42.99 for its A+ foil platform — the two systems are not cross-compatible.

Armstrong's Alloy masts are available in 58 cm, 72 cm, and 85 cm lengths at $109.99–$129.99, and the Alloy mast is exclusively compatible with Armstrong's Alloy fuselage. Riders considering a full carbon setup would look at Armstrong's Performance Carbon mast line instead, which uses a different mounting interface and hardware specification.
