Armstrong Memory Foam Front V-Strap

The Armstrong Memory Foam Front V-Strap is a front footstrap designed for foil boards, built from pressed memory foam and secured with proprietary titanium washers. Manufactured by Armstrong Foils, the V-Strap sits alongside the brand's straight footstrap as a front-foot-specific option tailored for wing foiling and kite foiling. Its V-shaped configuration is engineered to allow smooth front foot transitions during tacking and gybing, while the low-profile foam compresses easily under the chest during paddle-outs.

The strap ships with all necessary mounting hardware and uses multiple screw holes at each corner, giving riders adjustable placement and sizing options on compatible Armstrong boards.

Important: Armstrong states the included 27 mm self-tapping screws should not be used on WKT boards, as doing so risks cracking the deck. WKT owners need the 19.5 mm titanium-plated countersunk head screws, which are sold in a separate hardware kit.

The V-Strap is aimed at intermediate to advanced wing foilers and kite foilers who regularly perform tacks and gybes and need a front strap that allows quick, reliable foot changes. The V-shaped opening gives a wider entry angle than a conventional straight strap, which can reduce fumbling during transitions — a practical benefit once riders move past the beginner phase and start linking maneuvers.

Riders who prone paddle out to the break will also appreciate the low stack height of the memory foam, which compresses flat under the chest rather than digging in. The adjustable screw-hole pattern lets riders fine-tune fore-aft and stance-width positioning to match personal preference or board geometry.

Armstrong offers two front footstrap designs: this V-Strap and the standard Memory Foam Straight Footstrap. Both share the same pressed memory foam material, but the V-Strap's split-tongue shape is purpose-built for easier foot entry during transitions, while the straight strap serves as a simpler, slightly lower-cost option. The V-Strap with hardware retails for $74.99; the strap-only version (no screws or washers) is available separately at $44.99 for riders who already own compatible Armstrong hardware.

Outside the Armstrong ecosystem, comparable aftermarket foil straps include options from Duotone and North, though those are generally designed around their own board insert patterns. Because the Armstrong V-Strap uses brand-specific titanium washers and a particular pilot-hole diameter, it is primarily intended for use on Armstrong decks.
