Overview

The 2023 Cabrinha 03S Code MKII Wing Board is the second generation of Cabrinha's all-round wing foilboard, released under the brand's 03S season designation. Built as a compact, high-volume platform for wing foiling, the Code MKII updated the original Code with a reworked nose profile featuring a pronounced keel, intended to improve directional stability and assist with early takeoff. The compact outline lets riders select a shorter board than they might otherwise need, while still providing enough volume for confident water starts and balance before liftoff.

Cabrinha positions the Code as its most versatile wing foilboard, bridging the gap between entry-level stability and engaged on-foil performance. Construction pairs a lightweight EPS core with bamboo reinforcement and a unidirectional carbon stringer, a layup aimed at balancing durability with responsive flex when the board is put on rail at speed.

Key Specs

  • Construction: EPS core, bamboo reinforcement, UD carbon stringer
  • Deck pad: Dakine Friendly Foam biodegradable EVA with corduroy grooves
  • Strap system: Adaptive positions (single straight, Y-strap, offset, goofy, or regular)
  • Available sizes: 60 L (4'8" × 23.5" × 4.2"), 72 L (4'11" × 23.5" × 4.6"), 86 L (5'2" × 24.25" × 5.3"), 100 L (5'5" × 24.5" × 5.5"), 114 L (5'8" × 26.5" × 5.6"), 130 L (5'11" × 29.5" × 5.75")

Who It's For

The Code MKII targets a wide progression range, from intermediate riders still developing their foiling consistency to advanced wing foilers looking for a dependable freeride platform. The six-size spread — 60 L through 130 L — lets heavier or less experienced riders choose a higher-volume option for easier water starts, while lighter or more skilled riders can size down for reduced swing weight and more agile foil pumping.

The board's design intent centers on all-conditions versatility rather than a narrow performance niche. Its nose keel and volume distribution favor stable, predictable launches in choppy or light-wind conditions, making it a practical choice for riders who encounter variable weather rather than consistently powered sessions. The adaptive strap system adds flexibility for riders still dialing in their stance or switching between footstrap and strapless riding.

In the Lineup

Within Cabrinha's wing foil range, the Code sits as the all-round option — not the most race-oriented or wave-specific board, but the broadest in intended use. The MKII designation marks the second iteration; the original Code introduced the compact, high-volume shape philosophy, and the V2 refined it with the reshaped nose keel and updated volume flow. Cabrinha has since continued the Code line into newer seasons with further tweaks to dimensions and deck profile, so the 2023 MKII represents a mid-cycle design that benefits from first-generation feedback while remaining a generation behind the current model.

Buyers cross-shopping the Code MKII will often compare it against boards like the Slingshot Wizard or Fanatic Sky SUP Foil, both of which occupy a similar all-round wing foilboard category with overlapping size ranges. Within Cabrinha's own lineup, the X:Breed served a more crossover role bridging kite and wing disciplines, while the Code remained the dedicated wing foil platform.
