Overview

The 2024 Cabrinha Bump Prone Foilboard is Cabrinha's dedicated prone foiling board, introduced as part of their 04 product line. Built around a carbon hybrid construction with a lightweight EPS core, the Bump is designed to lower the barrier to entry for prone foiling while still delivering performance for experienced riders. Cabrinha offers two distinct shapes within the Bump range rather than simply scaling a single template, with each size tailored to a different skill level and riding style.

The board features a nose-entry-V hull that transitions into a planing surface, paired with a fast rocker profile and a round pin tail. A recessed concave deck lowers the rider's foot position for more direct board feel and efficient power transfer to the foil. Full custom EVA traction covers the deck, and the foil mounting system uses a standard track with included M8 hardware and lockable T-nut assemblies.

Who It's For

The two Bump sizes serve distinctly different riders. The 5'0" (40.5 L) is aimed at newcomers to prone foiling who need a stable paddling platform and forgiving touchdowns. Its wider outline and reduced side chines give it predictability during the paddle-in and pop-up phases, making it a practical first prone foilboard. The 4'8" (34.7 L) targets experienced prone foilers looking for tighter maneuverability. It carries more aggressive rail chines that allow harder carved turns once on foil, and its compact dimensions keep swing weight low for quick direction changes.

Both sizes suit ocean swell conditions where the rider paddles into waves unassisted — no wing, no kite. Riders who split time between downwind runs and surf-style wave riding on foil will find the Bump's fast rocker and efficient hull shape well-matched to catching bumps early and linking rides across open-ocean swell.

In the Lineup

Within Cabrinha's 2024 foilboard range, the Bump sits as the dedicated prone-specific option. It is distinct from the Cabrinha Code, which is Cabrinha's wing foil board offered in a much broader size spread (60 L to 160 L across seven sizes). Where the Code is built around wing-powered riding with higher volume for stability during wing handling, the Bump strips volume and width down to what a paddle-in rider actually needs.

The prone foilboard category has grown rapidly, and the Bump competes with boards like the Armstrong Prone Surf and the Axis Prone in the compact, performance-oriented segment. At two sizes, the Bump range is narrower than some competitors, but Cabrinha's approach of differentiating the shapes — rather than just scaling one outline — gives each size a more purpose-built feel for its intended rider.
