Overview

The Cabrinha Fusion Carbon Mast is a full-carbon foil mast built for Cabrinha's modular Fusion foil platform. Offered in 70 cm and 80 cm lengths, it sits within the original Fusion generation that preceded the newer hollow-construction MkII masts. Cabrinha designed this mast around an I-beam full carbon pre-preg layup with a PMI foam core, paired with an integrated carbon baseplate that connects directly to the mast body. The result is a single-piece mast-and-plate unit intended to reduce flex at the mounting interface and keep overall weight down compared to a bolted-on plate design.

The mast uses C6-grade carbon pre-preg sheets for controlled resin absorption during the cure, combined with stainless-steel 316 threaded brass inserts at the fuselage connection point. A tapered chord profile narrows toward the trailing edge to reduce hydrodynamic drag once the rider is up on foil. The fuselage attaches via a precision-tapered three-screw connection, and the mast fits any industry-standard 90 mm track box.

Who It's For

This mast targets intermediate to advanced foilers who want the stiffness and weight savings of carbon without stepping up to the premium hollow-construction MkII line. The 70 cm length suits riders who prefer a lower ride height for surf foiling or lighter-wind wing foiling where quick, responsive pumping matters. The 80 cm option adds clearance for choppier conditions and gives more room for error at higher speeds, making it a common choice for open-ocean wing foiling and kite foiling.

Because the Fusion platform is fully modular, both mast lengths pair with Cabrinha's X-Series and H-Series front wings and the interchangeable rear fuselage, so riders can adjust their setup across disciplines without swapping the mast. Riders moving up from the Fusion Alloy Mast will notice a meaningful improvement in torsional rigidity and a reduction in weight, which translates to more direct feedback through turns and less energy lost to mast flex.

In the Lineup

Within the Fusion ecosystem, this carbon mast occupies the middle tier. Below it sits the Fusion Alloy Mast, an extruded aircraft-grade aluminum option that costs less and offers solid durability for newer riders or those on a budget. Above it, the Fusion Carbon Hollow Mast MkII uses bladder-molded construction to push carbon to the outer skin, achieving higher stiffness-to-weight at a higher price point; that model comes in 74 cm, 84 cm, and 94 cm lengths and includes a redesigned barrel-nut-compatible mounting system.

For buyers cross-shopping outside the Cabrinha range, comparable carbon masts at a similar price include aluminum-to-carbon upgrade options from other modular foil brands. The Fusion Carbon Mast's integrated baseplate and PMI core construction keep it competitive in that mid-price carbon segment, though riders seeking the latest hollow technology will want to look at the MkII line.
