Overview
The Cabrinha Union Carbon Apex Complete Foil is a full-carbon hydrofoil package built around Cabrinha's 2026 Union platform. It pairs the Apex mast — a 14 mm ultra-high-modulus carbon spar — with one of three Prestige front wings (760, 905, or 1150 cm²), a choice of stabilizer (160, 180, or 200 cm²), and the Union fuselage system. The Union platform uses a connection system licensed from Mikeslab in which the front and rear wing halves each form one side of the fuselage, joining with a single screw. That fuselage then attaches to the mast with two screws. The result is a streamlined assembly with fewer exposed fasteners and a reduced fuselage cross-sectional area compared to Cabrinha's previous Fusion system.
All structural components — mast, wings, and fuselage shells — are high-modulus carbon fiber. The Apex mast uses unidirectional pre-preg carbon in a monobloc layup, and Cabrinha upgraded the Mikeslab hardware to M8 bolts (up from the standard M6) for added durability under larger wing loads.

Who It's For
The Apex package targets intermediate-to-advanced foilers who want a stiff, lightweight carbon setup and are willing to invest accordingly. The three Prestige wing sizes cover a wide performance window. The 1150 offers earlier lift and a lower minimum speed, suiting lighter-wind sessions and riders still building confidence on high-aspect foils. The 905 sits in the middle — accessible enough for progressing intermediates yet efficient enough for experienced riders who want a versatile everyday wing. The 760 is the high-performance option, with an aspect ratio above 12, oriented toward skilled riders in stronger wind who prioritize top-end speed and tight, responsive turns.
Stabilizer choice further tunes the ride: the 200 adds stability and forgiveness, while the 160 reduces drag for riders chasing speed and sharper handling. The complete package suits wing foiling, prone foiling, and powered foil-drive sessions, making it a practical multi-discipline setup for riders who don't want separate quivers for each discipline.
In the Lineup
Within Cabrinha's 2026 Union range, the Carbon Apex sits at the top. Below it, the standard Union Carbon mast uses a 16 mm profile — still full carbon but slightly thicker and less aggressive on drag reduction. The Apex's 14 mm section and stiffer layup position it as the flagship option for riders who prioritize direct feedback and minimal flex under load. An adapter is available for riders transitioning from Cabrinha's older Fusion aluminum masts, allowing them to run Union wings on existing Fusion hardware, though Fusion wings are not compatible with Union masts.
Competing complete foils at a similar price point include the Axis Ultra HPS and the Armstrong A+ system. Both share the same design philosophy — full carbon, high-aspect wings, slim mast profiles — but each uses a proprietary connection system. The Union's Mikeslab-derived fuselage integration and two-screw mast attachment are distinctive in how they reduce part count and assembly time compared to traditional four-bolt fuselage plates.
