Overview

The Code Fuselages from Code Foils are carbon hydrofoil fuselages available in four lengths, each separated by a 30mm increment. Code Foils, an Australian brand known for its all-carbon foil components, designed this fuselage around three priorities: strength, stiffness, and zero play in the connections. The fuselage uses a proprietary joining system at both the mast interface and the tail wing mount, with a larger-than-average mast cavity that locks the mast in place to minimize tolerance and maximize energy transfer. Tail wings attach via M6 bolts spaced 30mm apart, allowing riders to swap between different tail configurations without changing the fuselage.

  • Small length: 480 mm (18.9 in) from front of mast
  • Medium length: 510 mm (20.1 in) from front of mast
  • Large length: 540 mm (21.2 in) from front of mast
  • Size increment: 30 mm between each size
  • Material: Carbon construction
  • Tail mount: M6 bolts, 30 mm spacing
  • Included: Fuselage body, protective cover, bolt hardware

Who It's For

The four-size range covers a wide spectrum of rider levels and disciplines. The Large fuselage, at 540 mm, adds pitch stability and a slower pump cadence, making it a practical starting point for newer foilers or those riding downwind who want a more planted feel through glides. Downwind riders in particular tend to favor the longer option for its smoother ride characteristics and more forgiving handling.

At the other end, the X-Small (450 mm) is oriented toward advanced riders looking for tight turning radius and responsive handling. Code Foils recommends pairing the XS with larger front wings to balance the shortened fuselage length with sufficient lift and control. The Small and Medium sizes sit between these poles, offering a middle ground for intermediate to advanced riders who want some maneuverability without sacrificing all pitch stability. Riders across wing foiling, kite foiling, prone foiling, and SUP foiling can use these fuselages within the Code Foils ecosystem.

In the Lineup

The Code Fuselages are a shared component across Code Foils' two main wing families: the S Series (freeride and all-around, sizes 615 through 1725) and the R Series (downwind-focused, high-modulus construction). Both series mount to the same fuselage and mast platform, so purchasing a fuselage in the right length lets riders mix and match front wings and tails across the lineup without additional adapters.

Within the broader market, fuselages at this price point and in carbon construction compete with options from brands like Axis and Takuma, which also offer modular fuselage systems in multiple lengths. The Code system differentiates itself primarily through its oversized mast-to-fuselage junction, which is designed to reduce flex at that connection point. For riders already on the Code Foils platform, adding a second fuselage length is a relatively low-cost way to change the ride character of an existing setup without swapping wings or masts.
