Overview

The CORE 3.0 Kite Pump is the third-generation hand pump from CORE Kiteboarding, a German brand that has been producing kite and wing gear since 2001. Built for inflating kites and wings on the beach, the Pump 3.0 carries forward the dual-action design of earlier CORE pumps while adding a handful of practical refinements. The most visible change is the white pump body, chosen because it shows fewer scratch marks from sand and general wear compared to darker housings. A redesigned threaded hose connector between the handles lets the hose rotate freely, reducing the likelihood of kinks during inflation.

CORE ships the Pump 3.0 in two sizes — Standard (L) and Large (XL). Both share the same footplate width and handle span but differ in barrel height and air volume per stroke, giving riders a choice between a more compact pump and a higher-volume option that requires fewer strokes to fill a kite.

Who It's For

The CORE 3.0 Kite Pump suits any kiteboarder or wing foiler who inflates gear on the beach and wants a durable, sand-resistant pump with a built-in pressure gauge. The dual-action mode — pumping air on both the upstroke and downstroke — cuts inflation time roughly in half compared to single-action pumps, which matters when you are standing in wind and want to get on the water quickly. When the bladder is nearly full and back-pressure increases, you can flip the rotary valve to single-action mode to push through those last few strokes with less effort.

The integrated sand guard membrane covers the air intake and keeps sand grains out of the barrel and, by extension, out of your kite's bladder. Riders who frequently launch from sandy beaches will find this feature particularly useful. The included valve adapter makes the pump compatible with CORE's own valve system as well as many third-party kite and wing valves, so it is not limited to a single brand's gear.

In the Lineup

The Pump 3.0 replaces CORE's previous-generation Pump 2.0, retaining the same core mechanics — dual-action piston, sand guard, pressure gauge — while updating the hose mount, body color, and leash thickness. Within CORE's current accessory catalog it is the only dedicated kite pump, offered solely in the two size options. The Standard (L) size is the lighter, more packable choice, while the Large (XL) moves nearly 50 percent more air per stroke and is better suited to riders who regularly inflate larger kites (12 m and above) and want fewer pumps to reach target pressure.

Among competing pumps, the Duotone Kite Pump and the North Kite Pump occupy a similar price bracket and feature set, each offering double-action inflation and integrated pressure gauges. The CORE Pump 3.0 differentiates itself with its sand guard membrane and the rotating hose connector, details aimed at longevity and ease of use in sandy conditions.
