Overview

The Dakine Fly Wing Harness Line is an adjustable harness line built specifically for wing foiling. Produced by Dakine — one of the longest-standing accessories brands in wind and water sports — the Fly Wing line is part of the company's dedicated wing foiling accessory range. It connects a rider's harness hook to the wing handle, offloading arm fatigue during longer sessions or sustained upwind riding. The line attaches via velcro loops that wrap around the wing's soft handle or pigtail connection points, and it opens completely for straightforward installation without needing to thread it through a closed system.

A TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane) outer cover gives the line enough rigidity for the harness hook to slide freely along its length, letting riders find a balanced hook-in point on the fly. The core uses 4 mm Dyneema rope sheathed in urethane tubing, combining high tensile strength with a low-bulk profile that won't add unnecessary drag or weight to the wing handle.

Who It's For

The Fly Wing Harness Line suits intermediate to advanced wing foilers who want to hook in during powered riding to reduce upper-body fatigue. Riders covering longer downwinders, grinding upwind legs, or spending extended time on the water in moderate-to-strong wind will benefit most. Hooking into a wing takes some familiarity with body positioning and foil control, so this accessory is generally adopted after a rider is comfortable with basic board starts and sustained flight.

The self-centering behavior and wide 26"–34" adjustment range accommodate different harness heights and riding stances. Because the line is designed to sit loosely around soft foam handles rather than clamp tightly, it works well with the compressible grips found on most modern wings. Dakine notes the line is not ideally suited for rigid boom setups — riders using a boom may prefer a traditional windsurf-style harness line instead.

In the Lineup

Within Dakine's wing foiling collection, the Fly Wing Harness Line pairs directly with the Dakine Fly Wing Harness and the Dakine Solo Wing Harness, both purpose-built wing foil harnesses with a low-profile spreader bar. The harness line is sold separately, giving riders who already own a compatible waist or seat harness from any brand the option to add a hook-in setup without buying a full kit.

Compared to improvised solutions — such as repurposing standard windsurf harness lines — the Fly Wing line's velcro-loop attachment and self-centering TPU cover are tailored for the lighter loads and quick-release demands of wing foiling. At its price point it competes with similar wing-specific harness lines from Mystic and Ride Engine, though those lines use slightly different attachment methods. For riders already invested in Dakine harnesses, the Fly Wing line keeps the system consistent.
