Overview

The Dakine Wing Board Sock is a lightweight protective cover designed specifically for wing foil boards. Made by Dakine — a brand with decades of experience producing board bags across surf, kite, and wind sports — this sock provides day-to-day protection during transport and storage. It uses a soft stretch fabric body paired with a reinforced nose panel to guard against surface scratches, minor dings, and UV exposure. Unlike a fully padded board bag, the Wing Board Sock is a slim, pull-on cover intended for short trips between home and the water rather than airline travel or long-term storage.

A notable design detail is the extra-length cut that accommodates a foil mast plate area, so the sock fits wing foil board shapes without bunching. The sock is available in three lengths — 5'0", 5'4", and 5'8" — covering the most common wing board size range, and comes in two colorways: Deep Lake (teal) and Florida Blue (dark blue).

Who It's For

The Wing Board Sock suits any wing foiler who needs basic board protection for local sessions. If you drive to the beach, carry your board across a parking lot, or store it in a garage between sessions, this sock keeps the deck and rails free from scuffs and dust without the bulk of a padded bag. It works well for riders at every skill level since the protection need is the same whether you're learning or experienced.

Because it offers no rigid padding or internal dividers, the Wing Board Sock is not the right choice for air travel or shipping. Riders who need impact protection for checked luggage or van stacking should look at a padded board bag instead. But for everyday local use — board to car, car to beach, and back — the sock handles the job at a fraction of the weight and cost of a full bag.

In the Lineup

Within Dakine's wind and foil accessories range, the Wing Board Sock sits at the entry level for board protection. One step up is the Dakine Foil Daylight Wall Bag, which adds 6 mm foam padding, a reflective tarpaulin bottom, and a zippered fin slot for more substantial coverage during road trips or longer storage. The Wall Bag is available in larger sizes up to 7'0" and carries a higher price point to match its added features.

For riders who already own a padded travel bag but want something lighter for daily use, the Wing Board Sock fills that gap without duplicating protection they already have. Comparable products from other brands include the Duotone Wing Board Sock and the Mystic Star Wingfoil Boardbag, both of which occupy a similar lightweight, unpadded niche at roughly the same price.
