Overview

The 2025 Duotone Crush SLS is a compact, purpose-built prone foil board from Duotone's SLS (Strong Light Superior) construction tier. Despite sometimes being categorized alongside wing boards by retailers, the Crush SLS is engineered specifically for prone surf foiling — paddling into waves under your own power and riding them on a hydrofoil. It launched as a dedicated addition to Duotone's 2025 foilboard range, filling the prone-specific slot alongside the brand's wing-oriented Sky Style and multi-discipline Skybrid models.

The board's shape prioritizes paddle efficiency and wave-catching ease. A flat rocker profile keeps speed up while paddling into position, while a slightly raised nose prevents the board from catching water during touchdowns and whitewater sections. Tail cut-outs promote early water release at takeoff, and a single-concave-to-flat bottom contour is shaped for maximum glide. Soft rails add forgiveness during surf-style touch-and-go maneuvers.

Who It's For

The Crush SLS targets intermediate to experienced surf foilers who want a lightweight, responsive board for catching small to moderate waves under paddle power. Its compact dimensions and sub-3.5 kg weight make it highly maneuverable once on foil, rewarding riders who already have their prone takeoffs dialed and want to link sections and pump between waves.

The 4'6" / 30 L size suits lighter riders (under 65 kg) seeking maximum agility and the smallest possible platform for tight turns. The 4'10" / 40 L version accommodates riders up to roughly 90 kg and provides additional paddle volume for earlier wave entry — a practical choice for those still building consistency in their prone takeoffs or surfing in weaker conditions. Neither size includes strap inserts, keeping the deck minimal and reinforcing the board's surf-focused, strapless riding intent.

In the Lineup

Within Duotone's 2025 foilboard range, the Crush SLS occupies the prone-specific position. The Skybrid SLS is the brand's mid-length, multi-discipline board built around glide and early takeoffs across wing, downwind, and SUP foiling. The Sky Style SLS covers freeride and freestyle wing foiling with a more traditional compact shape and strap options. The Crush sits apart from both — it has no strap inserts, a flatter rocker, and a wider nose-to-tail outline optimized for paddle-in wave catching rather than powered foiling.

For buyers cross-shopping prone foil boards, the Crush SLS competes in the compact, high-performance segment alongside boards like the Appletree Surf Foil and the Armstrong Prone Foil board. Its SLS construction keeps weight near the low end of the category, and the two-size offering covers a broad rider-weight range without overcomplicating the lineup.
