Overview
The 2025 Duotone Fusion Boom and Handles are a modular grip system introduced for Duotone's wing foiling lineup. Rather than building handles directly into the wing's strut, Duotone designed the Fusion system as a separate accessory that bolts onto compatible wings with a few screws. The system comes in two configurations — a continuous boom for uninterrupted hand placement, or a two-piece handle set with a front and rear grip. Both options use oval carbon tube construction and a pistol-grip profile intended to reduce hand fatigue during longer sessions.
The Fusion system debuted alongside the 2025 Duotone Unit, Float, and Ventis wings, which ship without handles attached. This means riders select the grip style that suits their riding before heading out, and can switch between boom and handles on the same wing. Once installed, neither setup needs to be removed for packing — the included wing bags accommodate the hardware in place.

Who It's For
The choice between boom and handles comes down to riding style. The boom suits riders who want unrestricted hand placement along the strut — useful when learning tricks, riding one-handed, or switching grips frequently during freestyle and freeride sessions. Because you can grab anywhere along its length, the boom is often the simpler option for intermediate to advanced riders exploring new maneuvers. Its lighter total weight compared to the two-handle set is a minor additional benefit.
The handles suit riders who prefer distinct ergonomic grip points with wrist-friendly angles. The front handle is long enough to allow multiple hand positions, while the angled rear handle provides a consistent power grip. Handles also pack into a slightly shorter profile, which can matter for travel. Beginners may find handles more intuitive since the grip positions are predetermined, though both options work across skill levels.
In the Lineup
The Fusion system replaced the integrated handle and boom designs found on previous-generation Duotone wings. By decoupling the grip hardware from the wing itself, Duotone moved to an accessory-based approach — riders buy the wing and the grip system separately. This is consistent across the 2025 and 2026 Unit, Float, and Ventis lines.
Within Duotone's accessory range, the Fusion Boom and Handles sit as the primary grip options; there is no separate premium or budget tier. Competing brands take varied approaches — some include fixed handles on their wings, while others like Duotone now offer modular boom-or-handle choices. The oval carbon construction and sub-350 g weight for the boom place these accessories in a performance-oriented category, though pricing at $119 per unit keeps them accessible relative to the wings they attach to.
