Overview
The 2025 Duotone Skybrid is a mid-length wing foil board that sits between Duotone's dedicated downwind shapes and their compact Sky wing board range. Built around a longer, narrower outline than a traditional wing board, it is designed to deliver efficient glide and early water release while remaining manageable once airborne. The board uses Vacuum Epoxy Bamboo Sandwich construction, pairing a bamboo deck skin with vacuum-infused epoxy resin over a sandwich core for a durable, moderately lightweight layup. Duotone offers the Skybrid in four sizes — 85 L, 100 L, 115 L, and 130 L — covering a broad rider-weight spectrum up to 140 kg.
For 2025 the outline was refined with a more elongated, narrower shape compared to the first-generation Skybrid, paired with a reshaped diamond tail featuring a sharper trailing edge intended to help the board break free of the water sooner. A recessed deck brings the rider's feet closer to the foil connection point, and bottom cutouts further encourage early release. Two US-standard foil tracks with extended length allow a wide range of front-to-back foot positioning, and each board ships with three Duotone footstraps plus multiple insert options so riders can set up strapped or strapless.

Who It's For
The Skybrid targets a wide ability range, from progressing wing foilers who have moved past their first sessions to experienced freeriders looking for a board that gets on foil early without sacrificing stability. Its mid-length shape converts wing power into forward speed efficiently, making it well suited for lighter wind days or riders who want to fly on smaller, higher-aspect foils. The flat rail profile handles unplanned touchdowns gracefully, sending the board back onto foil with minimal speed loss — a trait that benefits less experienced riders still dialing in consistent flight.
Duotone positions the board for freeride and freefly wing foiling rather than dedicated freestyle. Riders focused on aerial tricks and technical maneuvers may find the mid-length outline less responsive for that purpose; Duotone's Sky Style board is the lineup alternative for that discipline. The Skybrid is also noted as functional for casual downwind runs, though it is not a purpose-built downwinder.
In the Lineup
Within Duotone's 2025 wing foil board range, the Skybrid occupies the middle tier in both price and construction. Above it sits the Skybrid SLS, which shares the same outline but uses Duotone's premium SLS layup with carbon foil tracks for reduced weight and higher stiffness. Below — or rather alongside — is the Skybrid Air, an inflatable version aimed at travel-oriented riders. For a more compact, freestyle-oriented shape, Duotone offers the Sky and Sky Style boards.
Against the broader market, the Skybrid competes with other mid-length freeride wing boards such as the Fanatic Sky Wing and the F-One Rocket Wing. Its Vacuum Epoxy Bamboo Sandwich construction keeps the price below full-carbon competitors while delivering weights in the 6.8–8.5 kg range across the size run — competitive for a non-carbon layup at this price point.
