Overview
The 2025 Duotone Unit Wing is the fifth generation of Duotone's flagship inflatable wing, built for surf, downwind, and freeride foiling. This is the standard-construction model in the Unit lineup, using Duotone's MOD3 S canopy material — a lighter fabric compared to previous generations that aims to improve draft stability and power delivery across the wind range. The 2025 Unit introduces the Fusion system, a modular approach where riders choose between Fusion handles or a Fusion boom depending on their preferred grip style. Both options feature an ergonomic carbon construction with a pistol grip design. Notably, handles and boom are sold separately and are not included with the wing.
Other updates for 2025 include refined canopy tension, adjusted tip twist, optimized tube diameters, improved window placement for better visibility, and a reinforced leading-edge handle for steering and control during flag-out maneuvers on waves.

Who It's For
The Duotone Unit Wing is aimed at a wide progression range, from intermediate riders looking for a versatile everyday wing to advanced foilers who want a capable platform for wave riding and downwind runs. Its design intent spans freeride cruising, surf-style foiling, and downwind linking, making it a broadly appealing choice rather than a narrow specialist. The lighter MOD3 S canopy benefits riders in lighter wind conditions by improving low-end power, while the refined canopy tension helps maintain control and composure at the top end.
The modular Fusion system lets riders tailor the wing to their style — handles pack smaller and suit wave-oriented riders who want a compact setup, while the boom offers unlimited hand placement for freestyle tricks and extended freeride sessions. Riders who are still progressing will find the Unit approachable, while experienced foilers can push it through more dynamic maneuvers without feeling held back.
In the Lineup
The standard Unit sits at the entry point of Duotone's three-tier Unit construction range for 2025. Above it, the Unit SLS uses an undyed PentaTX frame with an Aluula Gold center segment for added stiffness at reduced weight, while the Unit D/LAB tops the line with a full Aluula Gold frame for maximum rigidity and the lightest swing weight. All three share the same shape and MOD3 S canopy but differ in frame materials and price. The standard construction offers the most accessible price point for riders who want the Unit's handling characteristics without the premium of Aluula-based builds.
Within the broader inflatable wing market, the Unit competes with wings like the Ensis Spin and the F-One Strike V4 — both versatile freeride-oriented designs targeting a similar intermediate-to-advanced audience. The Unit's distinguishing feature for 2025 is the modular handle-or-boom Fusion system, which is uncommon at this price tier.
