Overview
The 2026 Duotone Midfish is a carbon mid-length foilboard built to handle multiple disciplines from a single platform. Designed by Duotone for prone foiling, wing foiling, downwind runs, and flat-water cruising, the Midfish uses a narrow outline paired with a fishtail shape and low rocker to deliver quick takeoffs and direct foil connection. A forward-positioned foil box shortens the effective riding length on foil, making the board feel more maneuverable than its physical dimensions suggest. Full carbon construction with PVC reinforcement in the standing area keeps the board stiff and light, while a V-bottom concave along the hull is intended to soften landings and improve energy efficiency during pumping.
The 2026 model is available in four sizes ranging from 38 L to 78 L, covering a wide span of rider weights and wind conditions. The two larger sizes (58 L and 78 L) include front footstrap inserts with both straight and V-strap mounting options, giving riders a choice between freeride and wave-oriented setups. The smaller 38 L and 48 L sizes ship without strap inserts, oriented toward prone and performance wing foiling where a strapless deck is preferred.

Who It's For
The Midfish targets intermediate to advanced foilers who want one board for several disciplines rather than a quiver of dedicated shapes. The 78 L and 58 L sizes suit riders looking for easier water starts and enough float for lighter wind sessions or wing foiling, while the 48 L and 38 L sizes cater to experienced riders focused on prone foiling or performance-oriented wing sessions where minimal swing weight matters.
Because the board spans prone, wing, downwind, and flat-water use cases, it fits riders who regularly switch between disciplines and want a single platform that adapts. The fishtail and low-rocker profile favor efficient takeoffs and stable glide over aggressive wave riding, making the Midfish more of a versatile cruiser than a dedicated surf-style foilboard.
In the Lineup
Within Duotone's 2026 foilboard range, the Midfish sits as the rigid, performance-oriented multi-discipline board. It shares its general shape philosophy with the Midfish Air, an inflatable version offering 115 L of volume at a lower price point, aimed at beginners and travel-focused riders. The rigid Midfish steps up in stiffness, response, and weight savings — its carbon layup brings the 5'2" down to just 3.5 kg — making it the choice for riders who prioritize on-foil feel over portability and ease of learning.
For buyers cross-shopping across brands, the Midfish competes in the mid-length multi-discipline foilboard category alongside boards like the F-One Rocket Mid-Length. Its distinguishing features are the full-carbon build at every size and the forward foil-box placement that Duotone uses to increase agility on foil. Riders choosing between the smaller Midfish sizes and a dedicated prone board should note that the Midfish's broader design brief trades some prone-specific refinement for cross-discipline flexibility.
