Overview

The 2026 Duotone Skybrid SLS is a mid-length foilboard built for riders who want a single board across multiple foiling disciplines. Produced by Duotone, one of the longest-running names in wind-powered board sports, the Skybrid SLS sits at the center of the brand's 2026 foilboard range as a versatile composite construction option. It is designed for wing foiling, prone foiling, foil-assist, and parawing use. The 2026 model refines the previous generation with a longer, narrower outline intended to improve glide and reduce the effort needed to get on foil, along with a redesigned diamond tail shape and increased rail bevels for better clearance during transitions.

Construction uses Duotone's Biax Carbon PVC Sandwich layup, pairing biaxial carbon fiber with a PVC foam core. The result is a board that stays light and stiff without sacrificing impact resistance. A recessed deck lowers the rider's stance closer to the foil connection point for more direct feedback, while extended carbon foil-mount tracks and multiple footstrap insert positions allow riders to dial in their stance for different conditions and disciplines.

Who It's For

The eight-size range from 45 to 130 liters makes the Skybrid SLS accessible across a broad spectrum of rider weights and skill levels. Larger volumes (100 L and above) offer enough buoyancy for heavier riders or those still building water-start consistency, while the compact 45 L and 60 L sizes target experienced foilers who ride in stronger wind and want minimal swing weight. The mid-range 70–90 L sizes cover the most common sweet spot for intermediate-to-advanced wing foilers in moderate conditions.

Because the board is shaped for multiple disciplines — wing, prone, foil-assist, and parawing — it suits riders who don't want a dedicated board for each activity. The single-concave-to-flat bottom hull is tuned for early takeoff, which benefits lighter-wind sessions and riders who are still refining their pumping technique. Riders focused purely on prone downwind or high-performance freestyle may find more specialized shapes in Duotone's lineup, but for a do-everything mid-length, the Skybrid SLS covers a wide envelope.

In the Lineup

Within Duotone's 2026 foilboard catalog, the Skybrid SLS occupies the mid-tier composite position. Above it sits the Skybrid D/LAB, which shares the same outline but uses Duotone's Hollow Shell Composite construction to cut roughly 30 percent of the weight — a meaningful reduction aimed at advanced riders chasing the lowest possible swing weight. Below the SLS, the Skybrid Air offers an inflatable alternative for travelers or riders who prioritize easy transport and storage over outright stiffness.

For riders cross-shopping outside the Duotone ecosystem, the Skybrid SLS competes with other mid-length carbon-sandwich foilboards in the $2,000–$2,500 bracket. Its eight-size spread is wider than most competitors offer, giving it an edge for riders at the extremes of the volume range. The 2026 updates — narrower outline, diamond tail, and increased rail bevel — are incremental refinements rather than a ground-up redesign, so riders on the 2025 Skybrid SLS will find a familiar feel with improved glide and transition clearance.
