Overview

The Duotone Front Wing Carve 3.0 SLS is the third generation of Duotone's versatile Carve front wing line, succeeding the Aero Carve 2.0 SLS from 2024. Built under Duotone's SLS (Strong Light Superior) construction tier, it uses an advanced carbon layup engineered to balance low weight with high stiffness and durability. Each of the four available sizes features individually optimized profiles and curvatures rather than a single scaled shape, giving each size its own tuned performance characteristics. The Carve 3.0 SLS is designed as a cross-discipline front wing suitable for wing foiling, kite foiling, prone foiling, and surf foiling.

Duotone positions the Carve 3.0 as an upgrade focused on pumping efficiency, glide, and pitch stability over the previous generation. The wing's outline is shaped for responsive rail-to-rail transitions and controlled pop during aerial maneuvers, while maintaining composure at speed. It mounts to all existing Duotone Aero AL and AL 3BS fuselages and pairs with the newer PX stabilizer series.

Who It's For

The Carve 3.0 SLS targets intermediate to advanced foilers who ride across multiple disciplines and want a single front wing that performs well in surf-style carving, freestyle tricks, and freeride pumping. The moderately high aspect ratios (6.5–7.0) place it in the performance-oriented category without pushing into pure race territory, making it accessible to progressing riders while still rewarding experienced pilots.

The four-size spread covers a wide range of conditions and rider weights. The smaller 800 and 950 sizes suit lighter riders or stronger wind and wave conditions where speed and maneuverability are priorities. The 1100 and 1300 sizes offer more lift and earlier takeoff for heavier riders or lighter wind sessions. Riders who split time between wing foiling and prone or kite foiling will find the Carve 3.0 SLS versatile enough to avoid needing discipline-specific wings.

In the Lineup

Within Duotone's current foil range, the Carve 3.0 sits at the SLS construction level — above the entry-level aluminum options but below the premium D/LAB tier. The Carve 3.0 D/LAB shares the same wing profiles in a lighter, stiffer carbon construction for riders willing to pay more for reduced weight. Together, these two tiers replaced the Aero Carve 2.0 SLS and Aero Carve 2.0 D/LAB from the 2024 lineup, with the "Aero" prefix dropped in the rebrand.

For buyers comparing across brands, the Carve 3.0 SLS occupies similar territory to mid-to-high aspect ratio carbon front wings designed for cross-discipline use, such as the Armstrong CF series or the Axis BSC line. Its aspect ratios in the high-6 to 7 range lean toward the carvey and freestyle end of the spectrum rather than pure glide, distinguishing it from Duotone's own higher-aspect pace-focused wings.
