Overview

The 2024 F-One Phantom FCT Front Wings are mid-aspect foil wings built for riders progressing through beginner and intermediate skill levels across multiple disciplines — wing foiling, surf foiling, downwind runs, and wake foiling. F-One manufactures these wings using its proprietary Foil Compression Technology (FCT), which wraps fiberglass around a high-density foam core, finishes with a protective shield skin, and adds a carbon ply layer to improve stiffness and impact resistance. The Phantom FCT line connects to F-One fuselages via the brand's Fusion Link system, a solid plate interface secured with four M6 screws at the front of the fuselage.

The 2024 generation carries the same Phantom profile that F-One has refined over several product cycles, prioritizing glide efficiency, stability, and accessible handling over raw top-end speed. Three size options — 1280, 1480, and 1680 — cover a broad spread of rider weights and wind conditions within a single wing shape.

Who It's For

F-One positions the Phantom FCT range at beginner-to-intermediate riders looking for a wing that balances lift, stability, and maneuverability without demanding precise technique. The moderate aspect ratios (5.9–6.4) keep the handling predictable during turns and pumping while still delivering enough glide to link swells or sustain flight in lighter wind.

Within the size range, rider weight and typical conditions guide the choice. The 1280 suits lighter riders under roughly 70 kg or anyone riding waves over one meter where less area means tighter carving response and higher top speed. The 1480 is the all-around option — versatile across sub-1.5-meter surf, flatwater wing foiling, and downwind paddling. The 1680 adds low-end lift for heavier riders or marginal wind days, trading some agility for earlier takeoff and more forgiving flight at slow speeds.

In the Lineup

The Phantom FCT sits below F-One's Phantom Carbon line in both price and material specification. Both share the same wing profiles and Phantom planform shape, but the Carbon versions use a pre-preg carbon monobloc construction and the Titan connection system, resulting in lighter weight and slightly greater stiffness. On the water, F-One notes the performance difference between FCT and Carbon is minimal — the FCT carries a bit more flex but follows the same ride characteristics. For riders who do not need the weight savings or the extended size range of the Carbon line (which adds 980, 1080, and 1780 options), the FCT offers the core Phantom experience at a lower price point.

Competitors in a similar price-and-performance bracket include the Naish Jet HA series and the Slingshot Phantasm, both fiberglass-construction mid-aspect wings aimed at progressing foilers. The Phantom FCT's Fusion Link mounting is specific to F-One fuselages, so it pairs most naturally with F-One's aluminum mast and fuselage ecosystem.
