Overview

The 2024 F-One Rocket Wing V4 Board is the fourth generation of F-One's dedicated wing foil board, built around a reshaped hull that prioritizes stability, pitch balance, and efficient takeoffs. F-One redesigned the outline for V4, adding a domed nose that packs more volume up front for steady water starts and a recessed deck that lowers the rider's stance closer to the foil. The hull features a double concave bottom with beveled rails and a pronounced step near the tail to reduce surface friction during liftoff. Construction uses F-One's Full Bamboo layup — natural bamboo veneers sandwiched between glass fiber layers — with an additional Double Bamboo Deck reinforcement in the stance area for durability underfoot.

The V4 represents a meaningful update over the V3. For any given board length, F-One increased the volume, so riders can either choose a physically shorter board at the same volume they're used to, or move to a more stable platform at the same length. The nose rocker is more pronounced than on the V3, which helps maintain a nose-up attitude in flight and reduces the tendency to nosedive at low speeds.

Who It's For

The Rocket Wing V4 spans a wide skill range thanks to its eight-size lineup. The larger boards — 5'10" at 115 L and 6'2" at 140 L — suit beginners and heavier riders who need extra float for water starts and low-wind sessions. The mid-range 5'0" through 5'5" sizes target intermediate riders looking for a balance of stability and maneuverability, with enough volume for comfortable starts but a compact enough footprint for carving and pumping. The compact 4'4" through 4'8" sizes drop below 60 L and appeal to lighter or more advanced riders who want a smaller platform for tighter turns and freestyle-oriented riding.

The board is oriented toward freeride and all-around wing foiling rather than pure wave riding. Riders who want a more surf-focused shape in the F-One range would look at the Rocket Wing-S or Rocket Surf instead.

In the Lineup

Within F-One's 2024 foilboard collection, the Rocket Wing V4 sits as the all-around wing foil board — the broadest size range in the lineup, covering 47 L to 140 L. It slots between the compact, wave-oriented Rocket Wing-S (which starts at smaller volumes and uses a narrower, longer outline tuned for carving) and the surf-specific Rocket Surf. A carbon version of the Rocket Wing V4 is also available, covering the five smallest sizes (4'4" through 5'3") at a lighter weight and higher price point, aimed at performance-focused riders.

Compared to competing all-around wing boards at similar price points — such as the Fanatic Sky Wing or the Naish Hover Wing GS — the Rocket Wing V4 leans toward accessibility and volume-per-length, making it a solid option for riders who prioritize easy water starts and forgiving low-speed handling over razor-thin profiles.
