Overview

The F-One 1600 Jam Front Wing is the mid-size option in F-One's high-aspect-ratio Jam foil series, built for dock starting, pumping, and light-wind wing foiling. The Jam line uses a Monobloc construction method where the front wing and fuselage are molded together in a single piece, eliminating a mechanical junction between the two components. This approach reduces parasitic flex and keeps weight low. The 1600 uses F-One's High Modulus (HM) Carbon fiber layup, which the brand states is 1.5 times stiffer than the standard carbon fiber found in other foil constructions. It connects to the mast via the TITAN 2 system, which uses two M8 tapered-head screws.

Who It's For

The F-One Jam 1600 targets intermediate to advanced foilers who spend time in light wind or flat water. Its high aspect ratio of 10.2 produces efficient glide at low speeds, making it well suited for dock-start sessions, flat-water pumping, and wing foiling when conditions are marginal. F-One also positions the 1600 as a capable entry point for learning SUP downwind runs, where sustained glide and early lift matter more than top-end speed or tight turning.

Riders who prioritize maneuverability or surf-style foiling in waves will likely find the Jam's long span and pumping-oriented profile limiting. This wing is tuned for forward efficiency rather than quick directional changes — F-One rates it at full marks for pumping and low-end power but low on maneuverability. A rider comfortable with dock starts who wants to extend sessions in sub-ideal wind will get the most out of this wing.

In the Lineup

The Jam 1600 sits between the smaller 1400 cm² and the larger 1900 cm² in F-One's Jam range. The 1400 is aimed at experienced dock-start and pump-foil riders who want less drag and higher cruise speed, while the 1900 offers more lift for heavier riders or those prioritizing the easiest possible takeoffs. All three sizes share the same Monobloc HM Carbon construction and TITAN 2 connection.

Within the broader F-One foil ecosystem, the Jam occupies the high-aspect, glide-focused end of the spectrum. Riders looking for more versatility across wave riding and freeride conditions would typically look at F-One's other front wing families, which trade some of the Jam's pumping efficiency for added maneuverability and a shorter wingspan. For cross-brand comparison, the Jam 1600 competes in the same high-aspect pumping and dock-start category as wings from Armstrong and Axis in similar surface-area ranges.
