Overview

The F-One Momentum UHM Front Wing is a high-aspect-ratio foil wing built for downwind SUP foiling and wing foiling. Part of F-One's 2025 foil component lineup, the Momentum targets open-ocean glide and sustained flight over long distances. It uses the brand's TITAN connection system and is constructed entirely from Ultra High Modulus (UHM) carbon fiber using a Monobloc pre-preg layup. The wing earned competitive credibility at the 2024 Moloka'i-to-O'ahu (M2O) downwind SUP foil race, ridden by F-One team rider Edo Tanas.

With a fixed aspect ratio of 16.5 across all five sizes, the Momentum prioritizes efficiency and low drag over maneuverability. Its narrow chord and long span translate to a low stall speed, strong pumping response, and extended glide per stroke or swell bump. Despite the high aspect ratio, the wing retains reasonable turning ability for a foil in this category.

Who It's For

The Momentum UHM is aimed at experienced downwind foilers and advanced wing foilers who prioritize glide efficiency and distance over tight carving or wave riding. Riders who run open-ocean downwind legs — whether on a prone SUP or under a wing — will benefit most from the 16.5 AR profile. The smaller 516 and 616 sizes suit lighter riders or higher-wind conditions where less lift is needed, while the 816 and 916 sizes provide earlier lift for heavier riders or lighter wind.

Because the UHM carbon layup is significantly stiffer than standard carbon (F-One rates it at 1.8 times the stiffness of regular carbon fiber and 1.2 times that of High Modulus carbon), the wing delivers direct feedback at speed. This level of responsiveness rewards riders with refined technique but may feel demanding for intermediates still developing their balance on high-aspect setups.

In the Lineup

Within F-One's foil wing catalog, the Momentum sits at the performance end of the range, positioned above the broader-appeal Eagle and Phantom lines. It is F-One's dedicated downwind and distance foil, distinct from their surf- and freeride-oriented offerings. The UHM version covered here is the top-tier construction option; F-One also offers some wings in a standard carbon or HM carbon layup at lower price points.

In the wider market, the Momentum competes with other high-aspect downwind front wings such as the Armstrong DW series and the Axis DW range. Its 16.5 AR and five-size spread give buyers granular choices to match rider weight and wind conditions without changing foil families. The TITAN connection keeps it within F-One's mast and fuselage ecosystem, so riders already on F-One setups can integrate it without adapter concerns.
