Overview

The F-One Eagle X UHM Carbon Foil Plane pairs the Eagle X front wing with the DW XS 145 Monobloc Tail stabilizer in a single package, giving riders a complete foil plane ready to mount on a compatible mast. F-One designed the Eagle X as a high-aspect-ratio front wing focused on sustained speed and efficient glide, particularly in downwind and open-ocean conditions. It sits alongside — rather than replacing — the original Eagle line in F-One's catalog, carving out a distinct role as the brand's speed-and-glide specialist.

The front wing uses Ultra High Modulus (UHM) pre-preg carbon in a monobloc construction, meaning the wing and fuselage section are molded as a single piece. According to F-One, UHM carbon is roughly 1.2 times stiffer than their High Modulus layup and 1.8 times stiffer than standard carbon fiber. The included DW XS 145 monobloc tail eliminates a separate stabilizer-to-fuselage connection, which reduces flex and improves flow efficiency at the rear of the assembly. The plane connects to F-One masts via the Titan 2 system.

Who It's For

F-One positions the Eagle X for intermediate to advanced foilers who prioritize glide and speed over tight carving. The 12:1 aspect ratio and refined tip profile make the wing well-suited to downwind runs in lighter wind with longer-period swell, where maintaining a high average speed through lulls matters more than snapping quick turns on a wave face. Riders who spend most of their time linking bumps and connecting sets on open-ocean runs are the primary audience.

Smaller sizes in the range (600–800 cm²) still generate meaningful lift relative to their surface area, making them viable for lighter riders or those comfortable with higher board speeds. The larger 900 and 1000 cm² options lower the entry speed for takeoff and add stability, suiting heavier riders or those transitioning from lower-aspect foils who want to explore high-aspect glide without sacrificing all low-end accessibility.

In the Lineup

Within F-One's foil range, the Eagle X occupies the high-performance glide tier. The original Eagle (aspect ratio 9.5) remains in the lineup for riders who want more maneuverability and better handling in steep, short-period chop. The Seven Seas sits in a different lane entirely as a versatile all-around wing for riders who want one foil across disciplines. For aggressive wave-face riding, F-One steers customers toward the SK8 series instead.

Compared to competing high-aspect downwind wings — such as the Armstrong HA series or the Axis ART — the Eagle X's consistent 12:1 aspect ratio across all six sizes and monobloc construction set it apart structurally, though direct performance comparisons depend heavily on rider weight, conditions, and the rest of the foil assembly. Buyers choosing between the plane package and the standalone Eagle X front wing should note that this listing includes the DW XS 145 tail, saving the cost of purchasing front wing and stabilizer separately.
