Overview

The F-One Gravity FCT Front Wings are fiberglass hydrofoil front wings from French watersports brand F-One, designed for riders learning to foil or building early progression skills. Available in 1800 cm² and 2200 cm² sizes, these wings use F-One's Foil Compression Technology (FCT) construction — a fiberglass layup around a high-density foam core topped with a protective shield skin. The FCT build method keeps weight and cost below F-One's carbon Gravity wings while maintaining solid structural integrity. The 1800 size received a V2 update for 2025, though both sizes continue to share the same core design philosophy: accessible lift, forgiving handling, and durability that tolerates the inevitable knocks of learning.

The wings attach to F-One's aluminum fuselages via the brand's Fusion Link system, a large plate secured by four M6 screws that creates a stiff connection between wing and fuselage.

Who It's For

F-One positions the Gravity FCT line squarely at beginners and early-intermediate foilers across wing foiling, kite foiling, and surf foiling disciplines. The thick wing profiles generate lift at low speeds, making the initial takeoff feel gradual rather than abrupt. Once up on foil, the wide chord and moderate aspect ratios provide a stable, predictable platform that resists sudden stalls or tip breaches — traits that matter most while a rider is still developing balance and board control.

The 2200 suits heavier riders (generally above 80 kg) or those using longer boards above 7 feet, where the extra 400 cm² of area and wider 110 cm span supply additional lift at even lower speeds. The 1800 is a more versatile middle ground, pairing well with mid-size wing foil boards and offering a slightly tighter turning radius thanks to its shorter span. Both sizes prioritize predictability over outright speed, with enough pumping efficiency to let riders practice glide connections between swells or gusts.

In the Lineup

Within F-One's foil catalog, the Gravity FCT sits as the entry-level tier below the carbon Gravity series. The carbon Gravity wings use pre-preg carbon construction and F-One's Titan connection system, delivering lower weight and higher stiffness at a higher price point. The FCT wings share similar planform shapes but trade premium materials for affordability — making them a practical starting point before upgrading components as skills develop. Riders who outgrow the Gravity FCT's speed ceiling and stability bias typically move up to the carbon Gravity 1800 or the higher-aspect Eagle line for more performance-oriented foiling.

The Gravity FCT competes with other entry-level foil wings such as the Slingshot Phantasm in fiberglass trim and the Duotone Spirit Carve GT front wings, all of which target the same new-to-foiling demographic with similar construction approaches and price brackets.
