Overview

The F-One Monobloc Tail Wing is a carbon stabilizer line for hydrofoils that integrates the tail wing and the rear section of the fuselage into a single molded unit. By removing the traditional two-screw junction between stabilizer and fuselage, the monobloc design increases overall stiffness, reduces turbulence at the connection point, and streamlines rigging time on the beach. F-One offers the Monobloc Tail in several sub-lines — Carving, Carving W, DW, and DW UHM — each tuned for a different riding style and discipline within the brand's foil ecosystem.

The Carving variants target surf-oriented and all-round wing foiling with moderate aspect ratios and a loose, maneuverable feel. The Carving W narrows the focus to high-speed wing foiling and tow-in, prioritizing pitch stability through a longer integrated fuselage and a lower-surface-area planform. The DW and DW UHM models shift to a higher aspect ratio for downwind and open-ocean glide, with the UHM versions using Ultra High Modulus carbon that F-One rates at 1.8 times the stiffness of standard carbon fiber.

Who It's For

The Carving tails suit intermediate to advanced foilers who split time between wing foiling and surf foiling and want a responsive, easy-to-pump stabilizer. Larger sizes in the Carving range (178–198 cm²) pair with bigger front wings for accessible low-end lift, while the smaller options (123–138 cm²) favor riders chasing speed and tight turns on compact front wings like the F-One SK8 or Sushi.

The Carving W is aimed at medium-to-experienced wing foilers focused on powered riding at higher speeds and aggressive carved turns — F-One positions it for winging and tow-in rather than surf foiling. The DW line targets dedicated downwind and open-ocean riders who need extended glide and forward projection between swells. Its higher aspect ratio minimizes drag at cruise speed, and the UHM carbon option adds further stiffness for pilots who prioritize direct feedback and efficiency over comfort on long runs.

In the Lineup

Within F-One's foil catalog the Monobloc Tail replaced earlier bolt-on stabilizers by merging the tail and rear fuselage into one piece. The current Carving generation consolidates the previous separate Carving and Carving W ranges into a single redesigned line with a tighter outline, while the original Carving W sizes remain available alongside it. On the downwind side, the DW UHM models sit above the standard DW variants, and the DW Comp (105 cm², aspect ratio 12) occupies the top of the range for race-oriented downwind foiling.

Riders cross-shopping stabilizers at this price point may also look at the Armstrong HA Tail series or the Axis Skinny Tail, both of which offer high-aspect options for downwind use. The F-One Monobloc's distinguishing feature remains its integrated fuselage section — most competitors still use a separate stabilizer bolted to a standalone fuselage, adding a joint that the monobloc eliminates.
