Overview
The F-One Origin V2 Wing is the second generation of F-One's accessible, freeride-oriented inflatable wing. Positioned as the most comfortable and forgiving option in the French brand's wing lineup, the Origin V2 carries forward the design philosophy of the original Origin while incorporating updated construction and refined aerodynamics. It ships in nine sizes from 2.0m to 6.0m — the 6.0m being a new addition to the range — and is offered in two colorways, Flame and Glacier.
F-One builds the Origin V2 around a canopy made from their TECHNOFORCE/D2 high-density polyester in 52g and 66g weights, paired with a leading edge constructed from HITEX high-tenacity polyester in 158g and 178g variants. A Load Diffuser System on the back of the strut uses overlapping Mylar and Dacron panels to improve profile retention, while small radial cuts at the wingtips and strut distribute tension more evenly across the canopy. The wing is sold without handles; riders choose separately from F-One's interchangeable soft, hybrid, or hard handle systems.

Who It's For
The Origin V2 targets riders who prioritize comfort and ease of use over outright speed or aggressive freestyle capability. F-One rates it highest for freefly and surf-style riding and lower for speed and freestyle, making it a natural fit for beginners learning to wing foil as well as intermediate riders who want a relaxed, low-fatigue session wing. Its light weight and soft power delivery suit extended time on the water without arm fatigue.
The wing's low-end power and efficient pumping characteristics make it particularly well suited to light-wind conditions. Riders on larger foils and boards who need smooth, predictable power for water starts will find the Origin V2 accommodating. F-One's published wind ranges — calibrated for a 75 kg rider — place the 5.0m at 14–25 knots and the 6.0m at 10–20 knots, reinforcing its orientation toward the lighter end of the spectrum.
In the Lineup
Within F-One's current wing range, the Origin sits alongside the Strike and Swing. The Strike V5 is the performance-oriented option built for speed, freestyle, and powered-up conditions with a flatter, tighter canopy. The Swing targets dedicated wave riders and downwind foilers. The Origin V2 fills the accessible freeride slot — lighter and more forgiving than the Strike, with broader appeal for everyday sessions and progression.
Riders cross-shopping the Origin V2 against wings from other brands will find it comparable to options like the Duotone Unit or the Naish Wing-Surfer in terms of market positioning: mid-range freeride wings designed for comfort and broad wind-range coverage rather than specialized performance. The nine-size range from 2.0m to 6.0m gives riders unusually fine granularity when building a quiver to cover varied conditions.
