Overview

The F-One Phantom S V3 Carbon Foil Plane is a high-aspect-ratio front wing package from F-One's performance-oriented Phantom lineup, built for experienced surf foilers and wing foilers. The "S" designation marks the smaller, speed-focused end of the Phantom Carbon family, with wing areas ranging from 740 to 940 cm² — picking up where the larger Phantom Carbon models (980–1780 cm²) leave off. Each Phantom S V3 plane ships as a bundle that pairs a carbon front wing with a carbon fuselage and the C-250 carbon stabilizer, giving riders a complete lower assembly ready to mount on a compatible F-One mast.

Construction follows F-One's monobloc process using pre-preg carbon fiber. The single-piece layup is designed to reduce weight and improve stiffness, which translates to direct, responsive feedback through turns and during pumping. The 740 weighs just 0.8 kg, while the 840 and 940 each come in at 1.0 kg — notably light for carbon foil wings of this size class.

Who It's For

The Phantom S V3 Carbon targets advanced riders — experienced surf foilers comfortable on overhead waves and skilled wing foilers riding in winds above 20 knots. The compact wing areas and consistent 6.5 aspect ratio across all three sizes favor speed, tight carving, and quick directional changes over low-end lift and early planing. Riders moving into prone tow-in foiling will also find the 740 suited to that discipline thanks to its minimal surface area and low drag.

The 940 occupies the most versatile spot in the range, offering efficient pumping and usable glide for downwind runs and wave riding in swell around one meter and above. The 840 sits in the middle as a speed-and-maneuverability option for strong-wind wing sessions, while the 740 is purpose-built for top-end speed in larger surf or tow-in scenarios. Riders still building confidence on foil or flying in lighter winds will generally be better served by the larger Phantom Carbon models.

In the Lineup

Within F-One's Phantom Carbon family, the Phantom S V3 fills the high-performance, small-area tier. The standard Phantom Carbon range starts at 980 cm² and runs up to 1780 cm², covering intermediate-to-advanced surf foil and wing foil with progressively more lift and stability. The Phantom S picks up below that 980 threshold, giving skilled riders access to lower drag and higher top speeds without leaving the same foil ecosystem and mast compatibility.

For riders cross-shopping outside the F-One range, comparable high-aspect carbon wings in the 700–950 cm² class include options from brands like Armstrong and Axis, though direct feature comparisons depend on fuselage geometry and stabilizer pairing. The bundled plane format — front wing, fuselage, and stabilizer sold together — simplifies the purchase compared to buying each component individually, which F-One also offers for the Phantom S front wing alone.
