Overview

The F-One Phantom V3 Carbon Foil Plane is a complete foil assembly package from F-One, pairing one of the brand's Phantom Carbon front wings with a carbon stabilizer and split fuselage. Sold as a ready-to-ride plane, the package lets riders select their front wing size (980, 1080, or 1280 cm²), fuselage length (XX-Short, X-Short, Short, or Long), and rear stabilizer (C275 or C300). The Phantom Carbon line sits at the center of F-One's foil hierarchy, built around a moderate aspect ratio of roughly 6.0 that balances glide, carving precision, and pumping efficiency across wing foiling and surf foiling disciplines.

F-One constructs the Phantom Carbon using a monobloc process: the front wing is bonded directly to its fuselage half in a single pre-preg carbon mold, eliminating bolt holes through the wing and increasing overall stiffness. The split-fuselage design simplifies transport while the TITAN connection interface locks the assembly to either an aluminum or carbon mast with minimal play.

Key Specs

  • 1280 — Span / AR / Weight: 87 cm / 5.9 / 1.37 kg
  • Construction: Monobloc pre-preg carbon
  • Fuselage options: XX-Short, X-Short, Short, Long (split design)
  • Stabilizer options: C275 Surf, C300 Surf
  • Mast interface: TITAN connection (aluminum or carbon mast compatible)

Who It's For

The Phantom Carbon plane targets intermediate to advanced foilers who want a single setup that performs well across multiple conditions rather than specializing in one. F-One describes it as an all-around foil suited to riders who already have some foiling experience. The 1280 cm² wing provides the most lift and is a practical option for lighter riders (under roughly 70 kg) or those who ride in lighter wind, while the 980 cm² is oriented toward higher-speed riding with tighter carving. The 1080 cm² sits in between, offering a speed-to-lift ratio that F-One highlights as particularly effective for staying connected to waves during surf foil sessions.

Stabilizer choice further tailors the ride. The C275 Surf is a smaller, flatter-arch tail designed for efficient pumping and a loose, shortboard-like feel. The C300 Surf has more surface area and a pronounced arch, producing smoother roll-to-rail carving and easier take-offs — a steadier choice for surf-oriented riding. Fuselage length adjusts turning radius and directional stability: shorter fuselages tighten maneuverability, while longer ones add tracking.

In the Lineup

Within F-One's foil range, the Phantom Carbon occupies the mid-performance tier at an aspect ratio near 6.0. Below it, the Gravity line (AR ~5.0) offers more surface area and forgiveness for riders just learning to foil. Above it, the Phantom S (AR ~6.5) uses a thinner profile and smaller wing areas (740–940 cm²) for riders chasing sharper turns and higher speed in surf foil and wing foil freestyle. Further up the aspect-ratio scale, F-One's Eagle and Eagle X wings target pure glide and downwind performance.

Compared to competing mid-AR carbon foils — such as the Armstrong CF series or the Axis PNG — the Phantom Carbon's monobloc construction is a distinguishing detail, removing the mechanical joint between front wing and fuselage that most competitors use. The V3 iteration refines the line's profile and arch geometry over earlier versions. Riders stepping up from the Gravity range or from an FCT (resin-transfer) Phantom will find the carbon version noticeably lighter and stiffer at each wing size.
