Overview

The F-One Rocket Air V3 Foilboard with Inserts is an inflatable board built for foiling across multiple disciplines, including wing foiling, kite foiling, SUP foiling, surf foiling, and wind foiling. Produced by F-One, a French watersports brand with a long history in kite and foil equipment, the Rocket Air V3 is part of the brand's third-generation inflatable foil platform. It uses a fused, twin-layer dropstitch shell that can be inflated up to 21 PSI, giving it the rigidity needed to control a hydrofoil while remaining portable enough to roll up and stow in a carry bag. The foil attaches through a four-point insert mount with 160 × 90 mm bolt spacing and M6 hardware, replacing the Tuttle box used on earlier Rocket Air generations.

At 12.7 cm thick across every size in the range, the Rocket Air V3 keeps foil placement consistent with F-One's rigid boards, so riders transitioning between inflatable and hard decks encounter the same balance point during takeoff and flight.

Who It's For

The Rocket Air V3 suits riders who need a travel-friendly or storage-friendly foilboard without giving up meaningful on-water performance. Beginners benefit from the extra buoyancy and impact forgiveness that an inflatable deck provides — a fall onto a soft board is far less punishing than onto a rigid composite. The 140 L and 168 L sizes offer enough float for heavier or less experienced riders to stand, balance, and pump up onto the foil with confidence, while the 90 L option targets lighter or more skilled riders who want a compact platform for wing foiling.

Because the board spans five foiling disciplines, it also appeals to riders who want a single deck they can pair with a wing, a kite, a SUP paddle, or a windsurf rig depending on conditions. Riders who frequently travel to foil destinations or who lack garage space for rigid boards will find the pack-down size particularly practical.

In the Lineup

Within F-One's own catalog, the Rocket Air V3 sits alongside the rigid Rocket Wing boards. The rigid versions offer stiffer response and lighter swing weight for advanced riding, while the Rocket Air line trades a small amount of stiffness for dramatically better portability and durability. The full Rocket Air V3 range spans seven sizes from 4'10" (75 L) up to 7'11" (185 L), covering everything from surf-foil-oriented compact shapes to large SUP-foil platforms.

Compared to other inflatable foilboards on the market, such as the SipaBoards Air or the Slingshot Foil Board iWing, the Rocket Air V3 competes on its 21 PSI inflation ceiling and its multi-discipline versatility. It is a previous-generation product — F-One has since released updated Rocket Air models — so remaining stock at retailers like Green Hat Kiteboarding often represents a value entry point for riders looking to get into foiling on a proven platform without paying current-year prices.
