Overview

The F-One Strike CWC V4 Aluula Wing is a light-wind-focused inflatable wing built around F-One's patented Compact Wing Concept (CWC) triple-strut layout. Released as a 2024-generation design, the V4 Aluula uses a shortened wingspan relative to its projected area, giving larger sizes a more compact, controllable feel. All three struts — one central and two lateral micro struts — are built with Aluula composite, a material chosen for its low weight and high stiffness, which allows a thinner central strut profile and reduced overall drag. The canopy uses F-One's Technoforce D2 ripstop in 52 g weight, while the leading edge is reinforced with Hitex polyester in 158 g and 178 g layups. A two-point inflation system separates the leading edge and central strut into independent chambers.

The V4 generation restored low-end power that the preceding V3 had traded away in favor of high-end range. The result is a wing that generates forward pull efficiently at low wind speeds while still performing when gusts pick up. An interchangeable handle system lets riders swap between soft, hybrid, and rigid handle options depending on riding style, and 45-degree wingtip cuts are designed to reduce tip drag during water-start pumping.

Who It's For

The Strike CWC V4 Aluula suits riders who want to get on foil in marginal wind without fighting an oversized, unwieldy wing. The compact span means a 7 m or 8 m feels closer to a size down in terms of handling, which is particularly useful during transitions, jibes, and pumping sequences where a long wingtip can catch the water. Riders in the intermediate-to-advanced range will get the most from its efficient power delivery, but the accessible low-end pull and stable canopy tension also make it viable for progressing riders who are learning to pump onto foil in lighter conditions.

The wind-range figures point toward a clear use case: summer sessions, sheltered bays, and inland lakes where consistent double-digit wind is uncommon. A 75 kg rider on the 8 m can expect usable power starting around 6 knots, extending to roughly 15 knots before the wing becomes overpowered. Heavier riders or those in gusty coastal conditions may favor the 9 m for its broader low-end reach.

In the Lineup

Within F-One's wing range, the Strike CWC sits alongside the standard Strike — a dual-strut design aimed at all-around use across a wider wind window. The CWC variant is purpose-built for the light-wind end of the spectrum, where the triple-strut frame adds canopy tension and projected area without extending the wingspan. The Aluula build is the premium tier; F-One also offered the Strike CWC V4 in a standard Dacron-strut version at a lower price point.

The V4 has since been succeeded by the 2025 Strike V5 CWC Aluula, which shares the same handle compatibility and general design philosophy but incorporates updated engineering. Riders comparing across brands will find the Strike CWC V4 Aluula positioned against wings like the Duotone Unit and the Ensis Spin, both of which target light-wind performance with multi-strut or rigid-frame approaches. The F-One's distinguishing trait remains its compact outline paired with Aluula weight savings — the 8 m at 3.15 kg is notably light for a triple-strut wing of that area.
