Overview
The F-One Swing V5 is the fifth generation of F-One's wave and freefly-oriented wingsurfing wing, available in eight sizes from 2.0 m² to 5.5 m². Introduced for 2025 and carried forward unchanged into 2026, the Swing V5 features a fully reworked design with a reduced wingspan compared to the V4, yielding a lighter and more compact wing that prioritizes maneuverability and neutral handling in surf and freefly conditions. F-One builds the canopy from its proprietary NANO micro-ripstop polyester at 55 g/m² with a Nano coating and Plasma treatment, while the leading edge uses HITEX high-tenacity polyester in 178 g and 158 g weights. A notable design element is the Sweep Control Panel, a HITEX 178 g reinforcement running wingtip to wingtip that regulates trailing-edge tension for consistent canopy shape under load. The wing is sold without handles — F-One's Carbon Boom and hard handles are purchased separately, and strap positioning is standardized so one boom fits across multiple F-One wing models and sizes.

Who It's For
The Swing V5 is aimed at intermediate to advanced wing foilers who spend most of their time in waves or pursuing freefly-style riding. F-One rates it at full marks for surf and freefly suitability, with slightly lower emphasis on freestyle and speed. Its compact wingspan and low weight make it easy to manage when flagged out during wave rides, while the stiff canopy construction provides direct, responsive power delivery when sheeted in. Riders who value a wing that stays quiet and controlled during downwind transitions and wave-face maneuvers will find it well suited to that purpose.
The size range covers a broad wind spectrum. Lighter riders or those in consistently strong wind can work with the 2.0–3.5 m² sizes, while the 4.5–5.5 m² options extend the Swing's reach into lighter conditions around 12–22 knots. The enhanced upwind drive introduced in the V5 also helps riders who previously found the Swing lacking in forward traction compared to more performance-oriented wings.
In the Lineup
Within F-One's current wing range, the Swing V5 sits alongside the Strike V5. Where the Strike leans toward high-performance freeride and racing with greater upwind efficiency and top-end speed, the Swing emphasizes wave riding, freefly, and accessible handling. The V5 generation narrowed the gap between the two by borrowing some of the Strike's forward traction and canopy stiffness, but the Swing retains a more forgiving, surf-focused character. Riders choosing between the two should consider whether their sessions are primarily wave-oriented (Swing) or freeride and upwind-focused (Strike).
Competing wings in a similar category include the Duotone Slick and the Ensis Score, both positioned as wave-specialist options from their respective brands. The Swing V5's low bare weight — under 2.5 kg in all sizes up to 5.0 m² — and its compact wingspan make it one of the lighter and more maneuverable options in this segment. F-One's decision to carry the V5 forward without changes for 2026 suggests the design has reached a mature, stable point in its development cycle.
