Overview
The F-One Swing V5 Wing is the fifth generation of F-One's long-running Swing line, an inflatable wing built around lightness and maneuverability for wave riding, downwind runs, and freefly sessions. F-One redesigned the V5 with a shorter wingspan compared to earlier versions, aiming for a more compact frame that sits lower in the hands and responds quickly to input. The wing uses F-One's Sweep Control Panel — a dedicated trailing-edge panel cut from HITEX 178g high-tenacity polyester — to regulate sail tension and maintain a stable profile across varying wind loads. A radial-cut canopy layout paired with an extended Load Diffuser spreads structural forces across the wing, reducing deformation under power.
The canopy itself uses F-One's NANO micro-ripstop polyester with a plasma coating for abrasion resistance, while HT80 woven double-ripstop polyester handles profile-critical zones. Inflation runs through F-One's Reactor Valve, a high-flow twist-lock system. The Swing V5 ships without handles; riders choose separately from F-One's Carbon Boom V2, or Hard, Hybrid, and Soft handle options.

Who It's For
The Swing V5 targets intermediate to advanced wing foilers who prioritize agility and a light feel over raw forward pull. Its compact wingspan and low overall weight make it well-suited to wave riding, where quick repositioning and a neutral flagging position let riders focus on swell lines rather than managing the wing. F-One's stated wind ranges — from 12 knots on the 5.5 m² up through 35+ knots on the 2.0 m² — cover a broad spectrum, though the design emphasis leans toward powered conditions where maneuverability matters most.
The reduced wingspan also benefits smaller-framed riders who prefer to keep their arms lower while sheeted in. Riders who split sessions between wave faces and open-ocean downwinders will find the Swing V5's freefly neutrality and upwind capability useful for linking runs without constant wing management.
In the Lineup
Within F-One's current wing range, the Swing sits alongside the Strike. Where the Strike V4 is tuned for forward traction and drive — appealing to freeriders and racers who want maximum upwind pull — the Swing V5 trades some of that forward power for quicker handling and a lighter touch. The V5 iteration brought the Swing closer to the Strike in top-end performance and upwind ability, narrowing the gap between the two lines while keeping the Swing's wave-oriented character intact. F-One carried the Swing V5 unchanged into 2026, suggesting confidence in the current design.
For buyers cross-shopping, the Duotone Slick SLS and Ensis Spin occupy similar territory as lightweight, wave-focused wings in comparable price brackets. The Swing V5's eight-size lineup — spanning 2.0 m² to 5.5 m² — is notably broad, giving riders fine-grained options for dialing in the right wing to their local conditions and foil setup.
