Overview

The F-One Eagle X UHM Carbon Front Wing is a high-aspect-ratio foil wing built for downwind foiling and light-wind glide performance. Part of F-One's top-tier foil component lineup, the Eagle X uses Ultra High Modulus (UHM) pre-preg carbon in a monobloc construction where the front wing and fuselage are molded as a single piece. UHM carbon is rated at 1.2 times stiffer than F-One's High Modulus (HM) layup and 1.8 times stiffer than standard carbon fiber, which translates to more direct feedback and tighter control at speed. The wing features a notably thin profile — a design choice that demands the added rigidity of UHM fibers — along with narrow wingtips fitted with winglets to minimize induced drag. The Eagle X connects to F-One masts through the Titan 2 interface, which accepts both aluminum and carbon mast options.

Who It's For

The Eagle X UHM Carbon is aimed at advanced foilers pursuing downwind runs, open-ocean glide, and high average speeds. Its aspect ratio of 12 produces strong glide efficiency but requires solid board-handling skills to manage the narrower margin for error that comes with a thinner, higher-AR profile. F-One positions the Eagle X for riders who have already progressed through more forgiving shapes — such as the brand's Phantom or standard Eagle — and are ready for a wing that rewards precision with speed.

Smaller sizes in the range (500 cm² and 600 cm²) suit lighter riders or those prioritizing top-end speed in stronger conditions, while the 900 cm² and 1000 cm² options lower the stall speed for lighter wind days and heavier pilots. The wing's design intent covers both fast downwind legs and sustained cruising, with enough low-end lift to keep the foil flying when conditions ease between swells.

In the Lineup

Within F-One's foil ecosystem, the Eagle X sits above the standard Eagle (aspect ratio 9.5) as the higher-performance downwind option. The Eagle trades some glide for added maneuverability and performs well in steeper, shorter-period bumps, while the Eagle X is tuned for faster, rounder swells where its thinner profile and higher aspect ratio can maintain a higher average speed. Below both Eagle variants, the Phantom series (aspect ratio around 6.0–6.5) serves as F-One's all-around and freestyle foil.

The UHM Carbon layup is the premium construction tier; F-One also offers the Eagle X in HM Carbon at a lower price point for riders who want the same planform with slightly less stiffness. Comparable high-AR front wings from other brands include options from Armstrong and Axis in the 10–12 AR range, though direct cross-brand mounting is not compatible. Riders choosing between Eagle X sizes should note that the entire range shares the same 12.0 aspect ratio, so the size decision comes down to surface area and span rather than a change in wing character.
