Overview

The F-One SK8 HM Carbon Front Wing is a high-aspect surf and carving foil wing built around F-One's monobloc construction, where the front wing and fuselage are molded as a single unit from High Modulus (HM) pre-preg carbon fiber. Designated T1 for its first-generation TITAN connection system, this wing is part of the SK8 line that F-One developed for riders who prioritize tight, controlled carving and wave-oriented riding across wing foiling, surf foiling, kite foiling, and downwind disciplines. It is offered in seven sizes from 550 cm² to 1150 cm², covering a broad spectrum of rider weights and wind conditions.

The HM carbon layup used in the SK8 is rated by F-One at 1.5 times the stiffness of their standard carbon construction. That added rigidity translates to more direct energy transfer through turns and less flex-induced lag at speed, which matters most during fast rail-to-rail transitions and loaded bottom turns.

Key Specs

  • Construction: High Modulus pre-preg carbon, monobloc (wing + fuselage molded as one piece)
  • Connection: TITAN (T1) — compatible with F-One aluminum and carbon masts
  • Available sizes: 550, 650, 750, 850, 950, 1050, 1150 cm²
  • Aspect ratio: 8.0 (8.1 on 650, 8.2 on 550)
  • Span range: 67 cm (550) to 96 cm (1150)
  • Weight range: 0.78 kg (550) to 1.46 kg (1150)

Who It's For

The SK8 sits squarely in intermediate-to-advanced territory. Its high aspect ratio of 8.0 rewards riders who already have solid foil control and want to push into faster, more dynamic carving. The narrower chord and higher span generate efficient glide and strong upwind performance, but demand more precise inputs than a lower-aspect freeride wing.

Smaller sizes in the range — the 550 and 650 — suit lighter riders or experienced foilers looking for a fast, loose feel in powered conditions. The mid-range 850 and 950 are the most versatile options, balancing low-end lift with enough speed and maneuverability for open-ocean surf and wing foiling. The 1050 and 1150 extend the line's reach into lighter wind and heavier rider weights while retaining the carving DNA of the series. The wingtip geometry is shaped to handle whitewater contact with minimal disruption, which is particularly useful for prone surf foiling in the impact zone.

In the Lineup

The SK8 T1 is the first generation of F-One's dedicated surf and carving foil line. F-One has since released the SK8 V2 (also HM Carbon) and the current SK8 V3, which moves to the updated TITAN 2 (T2) connection system and features a refined outline with further improvements to roll response. The T1 version remains a capable option for riders already in the F-One TITAN ecosystem who do not need the T2 interface.

Within F-One's broader foil range, the SK8 sits alongside the Eagle series, which targets freeride and light-wind efficiency at lower aspect ratios, and the Phantom line for race-oriented performance. Riders cross-shopping from other brands will find the SK8's high-aspect carving profile comparable to wings like the Armstrong CF series or the Axis SFC line, both of which occupy a similar surf-performance niche with high-modulus carbon construction.
