Overview

The F-One SK8 V3 HM Front Wing is the third generation of F-One's surf-oriented, medium-high aspect ratio foil wing, built on the brand's Titan 2 (T2) connection platform. Sitting in the performance carving segment of F-One's hydrofoil lineup, the SK8 V3 refines the profile and outline of earlier versions to emphasize responsive turning and consistent pressure through carved arcs. The wing uses monobloc construction with pre-preg High Modulus carbon fiber — a layup F-One states is 1.5 times stiffer than standard carbon — bonded with epoxy resin. Seven sizes span from 550 cm² to 1150 cm², covering a wide range of rider weights and wind conditions.

The V3 update narrows the wingtips compared to earlier SK8 generations, a change aimed at reducing drag during turns and improving how the wing handles tip breaches. Each wing ships with two M8-25mm titanium tapered-head screws, a Torx T30/T40 tool, and an EVA soft cover.

Who It's For

The SK8 V3 HM targets intermediate to advanced riders who prioritize carving feel and maneuverability over pure straight-line glide. Its medium-high aspect ratio of roughly 8.0 places it in a sweet spot for riders who want more speed and efficiency than a low-aspect surf wing provides, but still need the agility to draw tight lines on open-ocean swell or wind chop. The smaller sizes (550–750 cm²) suit lighter riders or those chasing speed in stronger wind, while the larger options (950–1150 cm²) give heavier riders or light-wind sessions enough lift and low-end accessibility.

The wing works across multiple disciplines — wing foiling, prone surf foiling, and kite foiling — though its profile is tuned most directly for surf-style carving. Riders looking to pump between sets will find reasonable glide at this aspect ratio, though dedicated downwind or distance-oriented riders may prefer a higher-aspect option.

In the Lineup

Within F-One's current foil range, the SK8 sits between the lower-aspect Phantom (roughly 6.5 AR) and the high-aspect Eagle (roughly 9.5 AR). The Phantom prioritizes tight, pivoty turns at the cost of glide, while the Eagle maximizes efficiency and distance per pump. The SK8 V3 occupies the middle ground — enough aspect ratio for meaningful glide and upwind ability, with a profile thin enough to carry speed through linked turns.

The V3 replaces the SK8 V2 and adds the 1150 cm² size at the top of the range, broadening the lineup's appeal toward heavier or more lift-dependent riders. For buyers cross-shopping other brands, the SK8 V3 competes most directly with wings like the Armstrong CF1600/CF1200 series and the Axis SHF line, all of which target surf-oriented foilers who want moderate to high aspect ratio performance without sacrificing carving response.
