Overview

The Flysurfer POW Parawing is a purpose-built single-skin soft wing designed from the ground up for parawing foiling, freeriding, and multi-terrain use. Developed by German brand Flysurfer — known for their expertise in ram-air kite technology — the POW applies that single-skin construction knowledge to the emerging parawing category. Available in 1.7m, 2.5m, and 4.0m sizes, it pairs an ultra-lightweight airframe with a four-bridle control system and a compact carbon J-handle, delivering a streamlined package that stows small and deploys quickly on the water or on land.

Unlike repurposed kite designs, the POW was engineered specifically for short-line, one-handed control. Its Mixer bridle mechanism — a pulley system positioned on the second bridle set — automatically adjusts the wing's camber profile and balance during flight, aiming to deliver consistent power across varying wind conditions without requiring active pilot input.

Who It's For

Flysurfer positions the POW for riders ranging from beginner to professional, and the size spread supports that claim. The 4.0m suits lighter wind sessions for average-weight riders, while the 2.5m handles moderate to stronger conditions — approximately 22 knots and above for a 90 kg rider. The 1.7m covers high-wind days. The automatic camber adjustment via the Mixer system reduces the learning curve for newer parawing pilots, since it removes the need to constantly manage wing trim.

The POW fits riders who want a compact, packable power source for downwind runs, open-water foiling, or wave-zone sessions where a traditional rigid wing would be cumbersome. Its drift characteristics and light weight make it particularly suited to swell riding and reconnecting to wind power after surfing a wave. Riders coming from wing foiling who want to shed weight and bulk, or kiters looking for a foil-specific crossover tool, represent the core audience.

In the Lineup

The POW is Flysurfer's first-generation dedicated parawing product and established the brand in this category. Flysurfer has since released the POW², which updates the line with revised sizes (1.7m, 2.3m, 3.0m, 4.0m, 5.5m), a slightly higher 2.9 aspect ratio, shortened bridle lengths for quicker stowage, and color-coded bridle lines. The original POW remains available at a lower price point and shares the same fundamental single-skin architecture and Mixer-based control philosophy.

In the broader market, the POW competes with parawings from brands like Ozone and Gin. Its four-bridle Mixer system and anti-flutter rib construction distinguish it from simpler three-bridle designs. For buyers evaluating the original POW against the newer POW², the first generation offers proven performance at a more accessible price, while the POW² expands the size range and refines packability.
