Foil Drive Nose Cone A - Foil Drive Assist MAX
Variants
- Default Title$138
Overview
The Foil Drive Nose Cone A is a replacement nose cone designed exclusively for the Foil Drive Assist MAX electric foil-assist system. Foil Drive, an Australian company specializing in electric hydrofoil propulsion, produces the Assist MAX as its flagship motor kit — and each kit ships with a nose cone that caps the forward end of the motor housing. Nose Cone A is the longer of two nose cone options available for the Assist MAX (the other being Nose Cone B) and serves a dual purpose: it protects the motor internals from impact and debris while providing a hydrodynamic fairing that smooths water flow around the unit during use.
This part is sold individually as a single Nose Cone A unit (SKU: FD144-1). It is strictly compatible with the Foil Drive Assist MAX and will not fit the Assist Slim or earlier Foil Drive generations.

Who It's For
Nose Cone A is a direct replacement part for Foil Drive Assist MAX owners who need to swap out a damaged or worn nose cone. It pairs with the larger MAX battery options — the MAX Power Battery and the MAX Travel Battery — so riders running either of those cells need this specific cone rather than the shorter Nose Cone B.
Because Nose Cone A is the longer fairing, it accommodates the additional length of the higher-capacity battery housings. Riders who prioritize extended runtime and have chosen one of the larger MAX batteries will already be using this nose cone from their original kit. If you are running the smaller MAX Sport Battery, you need Nose Cone B instead, which is shorter and lighter.
In the Lineup
Foil Drive offers four nose cones across its current product range: Nose Cone A and Nose Cone B for the Assist MAX, and Nose Cone C and Nose Cone D for the Assist Slim. Each is motor- and battery-specific, so they are not interchangeable between systems. A Nose Cone Rocker Foam Pad is also available as a separate accessory.
Within the Assist MAX ecosystem, the choice between Nose Cone A and Nose Cone B comes down to which battery you run. Nose Cone B's shorter profile reduces drag and saves roughly two pounds of under-board weight compared to the Nose Cone A setup, but that trade-off comes with reduced battery capacity and shorter ride times. For riders already committed to the MAX Power or MAX Travel battery, Nose Cone A is the only compatible option and the part to stock as a spare.
