Overview
The Foil Drive Paddle Mount is a purpose-built accessory that secures the Foil Drive wireless throttle controller to a SUP or prone paddle shaft. Made by Australian company Foil Drive, the mount allows riders to operate their Foil Drive electric assist system hands-free — or more accurately, without removing either hand from the paddle. It clamps onto the paddle shaft and holds the throttle controller at an ergonomic angle for thumb operation while paddling. The Paddle Mount is compatible with the full range of Foil Drive Assist systems, including the Assist, Assist MAX, Assist PLUS, and Assist Slim.
The mount uses a two-bolt clamp design with a removable wedge that sets the controller angle. Riders can reposition the wedge with a 2.5 mm hex driver to swap between regular and goofy stance orientations. It can also be flipped so the controller sits on the upper portion of the shaft for top-hand use, or inverted and placed mid-shaft for lower-hand throttle access. A soft rubber lanyard loops through the controller base and around the paddle for added security.

Who It's For
The Paddle Mount is aimed at Foil Drive owners who paddle into waves, bumps, or flatwater sessions and want throttle control integrated directly into their paddle grip. It suits SUP foilers and prone paddle foilers who rely on the Foil Drive Assist motor for takeoff assistance, light-wind sessions, or flat-water cruising and want to keep both hands on the paddle during the power-on phase.
Because the mount is adjustable for both stance directions and two hand positions, it works across a range of rider preferences. Beginners who are still dialing in hand placement benefit from the loose-bolt approach Foil Drive recommends for the first few sessions — bolts need only light finger tension, making on-water repositioning straightforward.
In the Lineup
Within the Foil Drive accessory catalog, the Paddle Mount sits alongside the V2 Throttle Controller itself, the Universal Mast Adapter, and the Folding Propellers as part of the broader Assist ecosystem. It ships as a standalone add-on rather than a bundled component, so riders who purchased an older Assist package — or who want a spare mount for a second paddle — can pick one up separately. The Assist PLUS complete system does include a Paddle Mount V2 in the box, so buyers of that kit may not need a standalone purchase unless they want a backup.
There is no direct competitor equivalent from other electric foil-assist brands, as the Paddle Mount is specific to the Foil Drive throttle controller's form factor. For Foil Drive users choosing between throttle mounting options, the alternative is hand-holding the controller without a mount, which limits paddle grip.
