Foil Drive Universal Motor Pod

The Foil Drive Universal Motor Pod is the outer housing component of Foil Drive's two-piece motor mounting system, designed to attach any Foil Drive motor unit to a hydrofoil mast. Manufactured by the Australian electric foil-assist brand Foil Drive, this pod represents a second-generation (V2) refinement over the original one-piece motor pod design. Rather than requiring a unique pod for each mast profile, the Universal Motor Pod pairs with a separate internal Mast Adaptor, allowing riders to swap between different foil setups without replacing the entire assembly.

The pod's outer shell is injection-moulded from polycarbonate reinforced with fiberglass, providing a durable, hydrodynamic enclosure that protects the motor while minimizing drag through the water. The package ships with two interchangeable nose cones — one short and one long — so the pod can accommodate Mast Adaptors of varying lengths. A common rear section receives the motor via a Motor Puck interface.
