The Mystic Legacy Helmet is a hard-shell water sports helmet designed from the ground up for kitesurfing, wing foiling, surf foiling, and wakeboarding. Introduced by Mystic as an evolution of their popular Impact Cap, the Legacy adds a rigid ABS outer shell to address the growing need for protection against sharp-impact hazards like hydrofoil wings and fins. Despite the added shell, the helmet maintains a low-profile shape that Mystic designed to feel closer to a neoprene hood than a traditional hard helmet. It comes in three sizes (XS/S, M/L, XL/XXL) and is available in multiple colorways including Black and Red.

The Legacy targets intermediate to advanced riders across wind and water disciplines who want meaningful head protection without the bulk and drag of a conventional helmet. Its hard-shell construction is particularly relevant for foil riders — kite foilers, wing foilers, and surf foilers — where exposed carbon wings and fins pose a genuine laceration and impact risk during falls. Hydrodynamic water channels and a sharply angled brim help shed water away from the eyes after duck dives or wipeouts, and mesh-covered vents minimize whistling at speed while still allowing ambient sound through.

Within Mystic's current helmet range, the Legacy sits at the top as the brand's most protective water-focused option. Below it, the Mystic Impact Cap offers a lighter, soft-shell alternative at roughly half the price for riders who prioritize minimal weight over hard-shell defense. The Vandal Pro occupies a middle tier with its own 360 dial system and hard-shell construction but follows a more traditional helmet profile. The standard Vandal rounds out the range as an entry-level option with a 180 dial system.
