Overview

The Mystic Wingleash Waist is a wing foiling leash that attaches at the waist, connecting a rider's harness or waist belt directly to their wing. Made by Mystic, a Dutch brand established in watersports hardware and apparel, this leash uses a compact weave construction with elasticated webbing and a swivel fitting between the harness connection point and the leash line. It comes in one size and is available in Black, Teal, and Dirty White colorways.

Unlike wrist-mounted wing leashes, the waist attachment routes the wing's pull through the rider's core rather than the arm. This frees both hands during transitions and reduces drag on the arms when paddling to and from the break. The swivel fitting helps prevent the leash line from twisting or tangling during use.

Who It's For

The Wingleash Waist is intended for wing foilers who already ride with a harness or waist belt. That typically means intermediate to advanced riders who have moved past the early learning phase and are comfortable managing their wing while foiling. Because the leash ties into the harness rather than the wrist, it suits riders who want unrestricted arm movement — useful during water starts, tacks, jibes, and any situation where both hands need to be free.

Riders who spend time paddling through surf to reach their launch spot will also benefit from the waist attachment, since arm fatigue from wing drag is reduced compared to a wrist leash. In stronger wind sessions where the wing pulls harder, distributing that load across the core rather than one wrist can make a noticeable difference in comfort over longer sessions.

In the Lineup

Mystic offers the Wingleash in both waist and wrist versions. The Wingleash Wrist uses a neoprene cuff with a velcro closure and is geared toward riders who don't use a harness — often beginners or those in light-wind conditions who prefer a simpler setup. The Waist version assumes the rider already has a harness in their kit and builds on that existing attachment point.

For riders looking for a higher-performance option, Mystic also produces the Wingleash Waist Dyneema, which upgrades to a Dyneema outer with an elastic core rated for over 500 kg of pull force, stainless steel swivels, and a padded adjustable waist belt. That version is aimed at riders in more demanding conditions who want added durability and load capacity. The standard Wingleash Waist sits as the entry point in Mystic's waist-mounted wing leash lineup, offering the core functionality at a lower price point.
