Overview
The 2026 North Nova Pro Wing is North's performance-tier inflatable wing, built for riders who want a stiffer, more responsive airframe than the standard Nova. Now in its latest generation, the Nova Pro sits above the freeride-oriented Nova in North's wing lineup, using upgraded materials and construction techniques aimed at delivering precise handling under power. For 2026, North has refined the leading edge with a slightly thinner diameter, introduced a revised panel layout, swapped to an N-RS3 triple-ripstop canopy in the front section, and trimmed roughly 200 grams compared to the outgoing model.
The airframe uses North's Hybrid N-Weave45 high-tensile material in the strut and central leading edge segments, paired with more forgiving Dacron at the wingtips — what North calls Active Twist tips — to manage gusts and reduce swing weight. Carbon UDi anti-deflection tapes run inside the leading edge, helping the airframe snap back into shape under load. The canopy combines a stiffer Matrix cloth across roughly 80% of the surface for torsional strength and shape retention, with the lighter N-RS3 triple-ripstop panel forward for a clean entry profile. Four trailing-edge battens reduce flutter and improve stability when powered up.

Who It's For
The Nova Pro is aimed at intermediate-to-advanced wing foilers who ride powered and want crisp feedback from their wing. Its stiff airframe and direct power delivery suit riders focused on jumping, freestyle, or aggressive freeride sessions where maintaining shape at the top end of the wind range matters. The Active Twist wingtips help absorb excess power without sacrificing control, so it remains manageable when overpowered, but this is not a wing designed around beginner-friendly forgiveness.
Riders who like to fine-tune their setup will appreciate the ShiftLock track system, which lets you slide handles or a boom along the strut to dial in the balance point. Front J-Handle options and multiple boom lengths add further customization. If you tend to ride in moderate-to-strong wind and value responsiveness over a soft, dampened feel, the Nova Pro fits that profile.
In the Lineup
Within North's 2026 wing range, the Nova Pro sits directly above the standard Nova. The Nova shares the same overall outline but uses simpler materials and a softer canopy, making it more accessible across skill levels and roughly 15–20% less expensive. The Nova Pro's upgraded airframe, Carbon UDi reinforcement, and Matrix canopy add stiffness and durability for riders who push harder. Below both sits the Mode, North's dedicated freeride option, while the Seek targets downwind and surf-oriented riding.
Against the broader market, the Nova Pro competes with performance-focused wings like the Duotone Slick Pro and the F-One Strike V4 CWC. Its modular ShiftLock handle system is a distinguishing feature, offering tool-free handle repositioning that most competitors handle through fixed attachment points. Seven sizes — from 2.2m up to 6.2m — cover a wide wind range and let riders build a quiver with consistent handling characteristics across conditions.
