Overview
The Ozone Pocket Rocket is a single-skin parawing built for hydrofoil riding, bridging the gap between inflatable wingfoil wings and traditional kite designs. Developed by Ozone — a brand with deep roots in paraglider and kite engineering — the Pocket Rocket uses a bridled, ram-air canopy that generates comparable power to an inflatable wing of the same size but handles more like a kite. The result is a compact, fast-drying wing that stows into a small pack for downwind runs and deploys quickly when wind assistance is needed. It launched in 2025 as Ozone's first dedicated parawing for the wingfoil and downwind-foiling market.

Who It's For
The Pocket Rocket suits a wide range of skill levels, from riders new to parawings through to experienced foilers looking for a high-performance downwind tool. Its joystick-style carbon bar keeps inputs intuitive — twist for direction, angle forward or back to sheet in and out — which flattens the learning curve for those transitioning from inflatable wings. The balanced cell-and-rib construction resists tip collapse, adding a layer of forgiveness that newer riders will appreciate.
For more experienced foilers, the Pocket Rocket earns its keep on powered-up runs and upwind work. A horizontal Dyneema line across the canopy span maintains a clean profile under load, letting riders push hard upwind without the wing deforming. Testing by independent outlets placed the 3m comfortable around 25 knots and the 5m usable from roughly 15 knots (at 90 kg on an 87 L board), indicating a practical range across the six-size quiver. Riders focused on downwind foiling will value the small pack size — the wing stows into an optional stash belt, freeing the rider to paddle back or ride swells unencumbered before redeploying.
In the Lineup
Within Ozone's own parawing range, the Pocket Rocket sits as the performance-oriented option alongside the Power Pack. Where the Power Pack prioritizes low-end pull and forgiving handling for riders newer to parawings, the Pocket Rocket trades some of that low-end ease for faster flying speed, stronger upwind ability, and better composure when overpowered. The Pocket Rocket also extends to a 5m size that the Power Pack does not match, giving heavier riders or light-wind foilers more coverage.
Outside the Ozone stable, the closest competitor is the Flysurfer POW. The POW offers more immediate low-end grunt and suits slower, higher-volume boards, while the Pocket Rocket favors efficient foil setups where upwind angle and high-wind stability matter more. Ozone has since released a Pocket Rocket V2 with a revised yoke bridle, shorter bar, and improved collapsibility, so buyers should confirm which generation a retailer is stocking.
