Overview

The Ride Engine Vinaka Pro V1 Wing Harness is a purpose-built waist harness designed specifically for wing foiling. Produced by Ride Engine — a brand known for its kite and wing foiling hardgoods — the Vinaka Pro sits above the standard Vinaka in the lineup, adding a thermo-molded construction and an inset support band for increased load distribution during longer sessions. The harness uses closed-cell materials that resist water absorption, helping it stay light throughout a session rather than becoming waterlogged like traditional neoprene-heavy designs.

The Vinaka Pro features a sliding spreader bar hook that can be repositioned to either side of the waist. This lets riders move the hook out of the way when paddling prone or carrying a board, reducing the chance of dings. Closure is handled by a dual-belt system combining a hook-and-loop strap with a secondary buckle-fed stabilizing belt, and two stainless steel D-rings provide attachment points for wing or board leashes.

Key Specs

  • Construction: Thermo-molded body with non-absorbent inset support band
  • Hook: Sliding spreader bar hook (repositions side to side)
  • Closure: Dual-belt system — hook-and-loop plus buckle-fed stabilizing belt
  • Leash attachment: Two stainless steel D-rings
  • Available sizes: S, M, L, XL (sized to match T-shirt size)

Who It's For

The Vinaka Pro V1 is aimed at intermediate to advanced wing foilers who want to reduce arm fatigue on longer or more powered-up sessions. Hooking into the harness transfers some of the wing's pull from the arms to the core, which becomes increasingly useful as riders progress into higher-wind conditions or begin practicing hooked-in maneuvers. The sliding hook also benefits riders working on upwind efficiency, since the fixed connection point can improve body positioning on heel-side tacks.

Because wing foiling often appeals to riders who value minimal gear, a dedicated harness isn't for everyone. The Vinaka Pro makes the most sense for those who ride with straps, favor powered-up sessions, or simply want to extend time on the water without the arm burn. Riders who primarily cruise in light wind and prefer an unencumbered feel may find the standard Vinaka — with its lighter, simpler wrap design — sufficient.

In the Lineup

Ride Engine's wing harness range includes the standard Vinaka Wingsurf V1, the Vinaka Pro V1, and the updated Vinaka V2. The standard Vinaka V1 is an ultra-minimal design built from ripstop nylon and thin closed-cell foam at roughly 450 grams, prioritizing near-invisible wearability. The Vinaka Pro V1 steps up with thermo-molded construction and the inset support band, trading a small amount of minimalism for noticeably more structure and load support. Ride Engine has since released the Vinaka V2, which updates the standard model with refinements but occupies a similar price tier.

For buyers cross-shopping, the Mystic Stealth and Dakine wing harnesses sit in the same category. The Vinaka Pro V1's sliding hook mechanism and non-absorbent build are its distinguishing features within this small but growing product segment.
