Overview

The Slingshot Dwarf Craft V3 Foilboard is the third generation of Slingshot's compact kite foilboard, built around a compression-molded construction with a PMU top sheet that keeps weight low while maintaining durability. The board pairs a concave deck with beveled rails — the concave shape aids foot placement and increases heel-to-toe sensitivity, while the beveled rail profile helps prevent the board from catching water during touchdowns. An adjustable foil track mount lets riders slide their foil forward or aft to tune feel and performance based on size and riding style, and multiple footstrap insert positions support three-strap, two-strap, single-strap, strapless, or hook setups. A full-coverage corduroy EVA deck pad rounds out the platform.

Slingshot designed the Dwarf Craft V3 with a high surface-area-to-volume ratio. The result is a board that sits relatively flat on the water for accessible water starts yet carries minimal volume, so it stays responsive once on foil and resists pearling if the rider touches down.

Who It's For

Slingshot positions the Dwarf Craft V3 toward two rider profiles: wake foilers ready to push their skills further, and experienced kiteboarders transitioning into foiling. The board is not a pure beginner platform — its low volume (16–24 L across the range) assumes riders can already get up on foil with reasonable consistency. Instead, it targets the progression window where a rider is moving from early flights to confident carving, pumping, foot switches, and freestyle-oriented moves like spinning and dancing on the board.

The 140 cm is the most forgiving option and suits heavier or less experienced foil riders who want extra stability during water starts, while the 110 cm is aimed at lighter or more advanced riders prioritizing a compact, maneuverable feel once airborne. In kite foiling conditions, the board's rocker line and beveled rails keep touchdowns smooth and predictable, making it well suited to variable or gusty wind where maintaining contact with the water surface is common.

In the Lineup

Within Slingshot's current foilboard range, the Dwarf Craft V3 sits as the dedicated kite foil option alongside discipline-specific boards like the Flow Craft V2 and Laser Craft V1 for wing foiling. Slingshot has since released the Dwarf Craft V4, making the V3 a previous-generation model — which also explains its current discounted pricing well below the original MSRP of $599. The V3 remains widely available and shares the same fundamental design philosophy as the V4, so riders looking for a capable kite foilboard at a lower price point may find it a practical entry into the Slingshot foil ecosystem. For riders comparing across brands, boards like the Cabrinha Double Agent or Naish Hover occupy a similar compact-kite-foilboard niche, though each differs in construction approach and volume distribution.
