Overview

The Slingshot Hope Craft V2 Foilboard is a compact, multi-discipline foil platform developed in collaboration with professional rider Fred Hope. Built on the foundation of Slingshot's popular Dwarf Craft design, the Hope Craft V2 raises the bar with a stiffer layup and refined shape tuned for kite foiling, wake foiling, and pump foiling. It uses what Slingshot calls a Pro Stiffness Core—a combination of wood and PVC stringers with a reinforced fiberglass layup—resulting in minimal flex under load. That rigidity is intentional: a stiffer deck transfers rider input more directly into the foil, improving responsiveness during turns and upwind work.

The board ships in four compact sizes ranging from 90 cm to 120 cm in length, with volumes spanning 12 to 16 liters. A full Corduroy EVA deck pad covers the standing area for grip and comfort when riding strapless, and beveled rails help the board skip free of the water on touchdowns rather than catching an edge. The nose carries extra volume compared to the Dwarf Craft, smoothing out water starts and recovery after surface contact.

Who It's For

The Hope Craft V2 suits intermediate to advanced foil riders who want a single board that works across kite, boat, and dock-start pump sessions. Its low volume and compact outline assume the rider can already water-start and ride upwind on foil; this is not a learning platform. The stiff construction rewards riders who load the board hard through carves and want precise energy transfer into the foil.

The smallest 90 cm size targets experienced riders comfortable on ultra-short decks, while the 120 cm option offers a bit more surface area and volume for heavier riders or those who prefer a slightly more forgiving water start. Riders stepping up from a higher-volume wing foil board into dedicated prone-size kite foil territory will find the Hope Craft V2 a natural transition point.

In the Lineup

Within Slingshot's foilboard range, the Hope Craft V2 sits as a performance-oriented kite and wake foil deck above the entry-level Dwarf Craft series. The Dwarf Craft V3, priced lower and available in slightly larger volumes (16–24 L), is aimed at riders still building skills, while the Hope Craft V2 trims volume and adds stiffness for riders who have outgrown a progression board. On the wing-foil side of the catalog, Slingshot offers higher-volume platforms like the Wing Craft V2 and Manticore V1, which serve a different purpose with larger footprints and more buoyancy for wing-powered riding.

Compared to compact kite foil boards from other brands—such as the Naish Hover Kite or Cabrinha XBreaker—the Hope Craft V2 occupies a similar niche: small-format, stiff, multi-discipline boards designed for riders who spend most of their time on foil and only touch the water briefly during starts and landings.
