Overview
The Slingshot I-FLY V1 Foilboard is an inflatable wing foil board built around a large carbon-fiber foil plate integrated into the hull. Produced by Slingshot Sports, the I-FLY V1 pairs the portability of an inflatable platform with a rigid foil-mounting interface, allowing riders to deflate the board and stow it in the included backpack-style travel bag. The board ships with a high-pressure pump, three-quarter-length deck pad, top and bottom carry handles, footstrap inserts, and a leash connector. Footstraps themselves are sold separately.
The carbon plate runs along the bottom of the board and houses an extended foil track, which Slingshot states accepts foils from any brand. Footstrap inserts are arranged in a tri-strap pattern, supporting both an offset front-foot stance and a full three-strap setup for more aggressive riding. The flat, wide deck works for strapless riding as well.

Who It's For
The I-FLY V1 targets wing foilers who prioritize travel convenience and compact storage without giving up on-foil performance. The 140 L and 120 L sizes offer enough float for heavier riders or those still building waterstart consistency, while the 90 L suits lighter or more experienced foilers comfortable on lower-volume platforms. Slingshot positions the board across a wide skill range, though the inflatable hull can be less directionally stable during the pump-up and acceleration phase compared to a shaped hard board. Riders with some foiling experience will adapt to this characteristic more quickly than complete beginners.
The board suits travelers, van-lifers, and anyone short on garage space. Setup time from bag to water is roughly ten minutes, and deflation returns it to a compact package that fits in the included backpack case.
In the Lineup
Within Slingshot's inflatable wing board range, the I-FLY V1 sits as the dedicated foiling platform. Below it, the LTF (Learn To Fly) is a progression board that starts with fins and a keel before converting to foil use, while the Tracker is a high-volume SUP-style platform for paddling and light-wind wing cruising. The I-FLY assumes the rider is ready to foil from day one and offers the smallest volumes and most performance-oriented shape in the inflatable lineup.
Compared to Slingshot's own hard foilboards, the I-FLY trades some waterline efficiency and directional stability at low speed for dramatically better portability. Riders choosing between the two are essentially weighing travel convenience against outright performance during takeoff and in choppy conditions. In the broader market, competing inflatable foilboards include options from brands like Fanatic and Starboard, though few match the I-FLY's size range down to 90 L.
