Overview

The Slingshot One-Lock Wing Quickstart Package is a complete hydrofoil setup designed to get new wing foilers on the water with minimal friction. Built around Slingshot's One-Lock platform — a screw-free modular connection system — the package bundles three core foil components and a board-mounting kit into a single purchase. The One-Lock mechanism uses a quick-release clamp rather than traditional screws to join wings, stabilizer, and mast, allowing full assembly or breakdown in under 30 seconds without tools. This modular approach also means individual components can be swapped or upgraded as a rider's skill develops, without replacing the entire foil.

The package centers on the Ease 1850 front wing, Slingshot's most beginner-oriented foil wing, paired with the Verse 270 stabilizer and an 82 cm aluminum mast. No board is included — riders supply their own foil-compatible board or purchase one separately.

Key Specs

  • Front wing: Ease 1850 — 1,850 cm² surface area, 990 mm span, 5.4 aspect ratio, 4.72 lbs
  • Stabilizer: Verse Tail 270 — 270 cm² surface area, 405 mm span, 6.1 aspect ratio, 0.93 lbs
  • Mast: One-Lock Aluminum 82 — 82 cm length, 118 mm chord, 4.41 lbs
  • Mounting: RTS Complete Kit included
  • Connection system: One-Lock screw-free quick-release
  • Wing construction: High and mid modulus carbon

Who It's For

This package targets riders entering wing foiling for the first time or transitioning from other board sports. The Ease 1850 front wing has a large surface area and forward maximum thickness with medium camber, producing early lift at low speeds and a gradual, predictable stall point. Those characteristics reduce the abrupt crashes that frustrate learners and let riders focus on balance and wing handling rather than fighting the foil. Independent testing confirms that the Ease 1850 lifts at very low speeds and maintains stable flight even with limited pilot input, making it well-suited to light-wind freeride sessions.

The 82 cm aluminum mast keeps the ride height moderate, which further lowers the learning curve compared to taller carbon masts. Riders who progress beyond the entry-level setup can later swap in a longer mast or a higher-aspect front wing within the One-Lock ecosystem without buying a new fuselage or stabilizer.

In the Lineup

Within Slingshot's One-Lock range, the Wing Quickstart Package sits at the entry level. It is the most affordable foil-only bundle in the lineup, priced below the Wing Craft Package, which pairs the same foil components with Slingshot's Wing Craft V3 board for roughly $300 more. Riders who already own a foil board — or plan to choose one independently — save that difference by opting for the Quickstart.

Slingshot's One-Lock wing foil ecosystem also includes higher-performance front wings like the Glide series, which offer more speed range and a higher aspect ratio for experienced riders. Because every One-Lock component shares the same connection interface, upgrading from the Ease 1850 to a Glide front wing is a straightforward swap. Competing entry-level foil packages at a similar price point include offerings from brands like Armstrong and Lift, though those use conventional bolt-together assemblies rather than a tool-free system.
