Slingshot WF-2 V5 Foilboard - 4'6"
Variants
- Default Title$500
Overview
The Slingshot WF-2 V5 Foilboard in the 4'6" size is the fifth generation of Slingshot's soft-top wake foilboard, designed as a crossover platform for both wake foiling and traditional wakesurfing. Slingshot built the WF-2 line around the idea that shorter boards can retain the surface area needed for stability while giving riders a more maneuverable shape on foil. The V5 continues that approach with a compact outline, an aggressive nose rocker, and a full EVA soft-top deck that doubles as impact protection for both rider and boat.
The board ships as a deck only — no foil included — and accepts foils via an adjustable track-mount system on the bottom. Twin FCS II fin boxes let riders swap in surf fins and use the WF-2 as a conventional wakesurf board when the foil comes off, making it a practical two-in-one option for boat owners who want a single board that covers both activities.

Who It's For
Slingshot positions the WF-2 V5 for the full spectrum of rider ability, from first-time foilers to experienced riders looking for a compact pump board. The pronounced nose rocker reduces the chance of nose-diving on touchdowns, which is a common frustration for beginners still learning to control ride height. For more advanced riders, the short 4'6" length keeps the board clear of the water during aggressive pumping and carving.
The soft EVA deck is a deliberate choice for the boat-foiling environment. It cushions falls, resists dings against the swim platform, and provides traction without wax. Riders who want a dedicated footstrap setup can thread straps through the inline inserts; those who prefer a free stance can leave them empty. The crossover wakesurf capability — pop the foil off, click in a pair of FCS II fins — makes this board particularly appealing to families or groups sharing a single tow boat where not everyone foils.
In the Lineup
Within Slingshot's wake-foil range, the WF-2 sits as the soft-top option alongside the WF-1, which uses a harder composite deck construction aimed at riders who prioritize direct board feel and lighter swing weight. The WF-2 trades some of that stiffness for durability and comfort, leaning into the beginner-friendly and boat-friendly role.
Slingshot has since released the WF-2 V6, which trims the length to 4'4" and carries a higher retail price. The V5 at 4'6" remains widely available at a lower price point, making it a strong value entry into boat-towed foiling. Competing soft-top wake foilboards in a similar price bracket include options from Liquid Force and Ride Engine, though the WF-2's dual wakesurf capability via the FCS II fin boxes gives it a distinct crossover edge.
